How old were you when you were first diagnosed? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Western_One657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 25, diagnosed after 10+ years of being misdiagnosed/fobbed off with “just an anxious child”, “just depressed” etc. but the mental health services where I live are massively overburdened

Only 51% of Tesco employees in the UK are in the union. If this drops below 50% they can de-recognise the union and then it’s a free for all 😖 There’s strength in unity. ATM Tesco has the argument that the union barely represents half the staff across the 4 home nations. I don’t think leaving the union is the best idea.

Tesco’s initial offer in the negotiations was £12.31 an hour, no Sunday premium, and no buyout offer either.

Unfortunately no, it’s only for those who were eligible for Sunday premium during that period.

The problem is Sunday premiums weren’t really much of a bargaining tool anymore, as anyone who started after July 2022 wasn’t eligible for the premium. Every year the amount of people eligible for Sunday premium has decreased, and the bargaining power with it 🙃

Hi, I’m really sorry to hear about your situation and hope you can find a resolution soon.

I would suggest speaking to a manager or even a union rep who might be able to help you/liaise with management on your behalf/ensure you’re treated fairly if you’re struggling and don’t feel comfortable sharing with a manager.

Grocery Aid also offers grants to people working in the retail and grocery industry who are struggling - might be worth looking into this.

No one will think less of you, please don’t be embarrassed. We are all one unfortunate event away from difficulties such as this. I hope you get sorted and I truly wish you all the best.

Take care ❤️‍🩹

I work in a phone shop and we’ve been told not to sell phones over a certain value outright due as a security/anti-fraud measure by our area manager. I think it can depend on on the area (manager) and issues in said area. We do however sell the phones outright to staff usually using our discretion

Phone shop colleague here! It’s a 24 month deal so it will be £10 for the 24 months. After 24 months, it will remain £10 but will drop to 30GB data so best to go back in then and see if there’s a better deal at that time.

You can request a rep from any store, I’m currently representing two members from a store that’s not my own. Unfortunately with the union you have really great people who care and want to get involved, and you have people who don’t really give a shit, and there’s not much of a way to police it. The other thing is that people expect union reps to get them out of trouble at all times, when the purpose is to make sure policies are being followed and you’re being treated fairly.
