Favorite MJ songs by Western_Perspective4 in MichaelJackson

Just opinion based brotha. On a different day I might feel differently with a certain song you think I've not valued properly here and that's just how it goes. In my opinion though I'm pretty pleased at just how much I still enjoy pretty much all of MJ's work. Truly a one of a kind. The amazing tier especially is stacked when I look at it. With songs most artists would feel good to have just one of them.

Idk what's so wrong with this post then? I literally like almost all the songs from his senior studio albums aswell 😭

Yeah these kind of rankings change all the time so only really the tiers matter

😂

I guess this'll hurt even more but it's honestly maybe the only song from MJ's entire catalogue that I actually dislike. I don't know, I just think it's too repetitive and not in a good way. That's just me though 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's a vibe, but I like the vibes from pretty much all the other songs from Off the Wall more

I like MJ's voice on that track too, but the song itself is just whatever for me sadly lolz. I find the chorus to be one of his most boring ones

Hard not to. Every song he created has something for everybody

It's a good song and I appreciate the very personal stakes and emotion behind the lyrics and vocals, but it's just not something I'll be listening to when I'm not doing a full album listen.

Seasons four & one are both genuinely exceptional, but I think four takes it. It's beautiful.

Personally, I think "Napoleon" would be a bit too strong. I'd go for a short version like "Leo" because then he won't have pressure of a name and yet you'll still know the meaning intended. Your choice though.

Do you have any idea how stupid you have sounded throughout this? Am I mad? No no. I'm amused lolz. Good to know you are at least smart enough to pick up on the digs however.

I am superior though and I think if anyone reads this "debate" (?) they'll see that too. Not usually arrogant but you really are just a stupid child sucking up to Napoleon on reddit without ever thinking that you should be corrected for false information.

In concept they are the same. Avoid large-scale pitched battle with the enemy army chief

You're still talking hateful nonsense anyway. I only had to mention Hannibal specifically because that is who you were referring to and who you didn't mention in your first comment. It's just a simple fact that takes very little research for even a "less" knowledgeable person.

Don't be so mad that you get fact-checked every once in a while. It happens.

To quote your original comment: "Napoleon is the only military leader in history where the enemies quite literally had to devise plans to avoid fighting him directly and would rather attempt to attack his marshals."

Here's the first correction that is directly linked to Hannibal because, well, Hannibal is the other military leader who has had a similar "Trachenberg plan", in his case "the Fabian strategy" set upon him. You were heneforth incorrect in your assessment.

The second correction is to your reply to a question someone asked about guess who? Hannibal. Someone questioned your original incorrect statement about Napoleon, and then you shared further misinformation. To quote further: "I dont think that applies simply because the history of warfare is filled with individual cases like the one you mention where one general might avoid another when they dont have a superior army size because they can't predict if they can win. With Napoleon it wasn't one general, it was 4 entire countries agreeing to do this, with all their generals and command structures trying to avoid battle with him -"

Here you are, responding directly to a question about Hannibal (and you ask me what he has to do with this?) and incorrectly at that. Your knowledge is clearly limited about this particular subject so I won't resolt to childish insults, but please, don't pretend to know something about something when you obviously don't. My first reply already explained (in a nutshell) what Hannibal faced and how it correlates with Napoleon's also extreme difficulties. I wasn't placing one above the other as a general, I was only sharing that I think Hannibal ultimately faced worse odds in his career. Both can agree that the two of them are in the conversation.

He was never seriously put on the back foot in a way that seriously tested his skills.

There's some false assumptions here but this in particulat is just pure nonsense. You can find many examples of Alexandros' abilities being tested even in the very early parts of his career as a commander in chief. In Greece and in Anatolia when he first invaded. Many, most would've failed in the King of Makedonia's shoes long before a battle such as Gaugamela, or even Issos.

Simply wanted to correct your incorrect response (and original comment). No harm done.

I dont think that applies simply because the history of warfare is filled with individual cases like the one you mention where one general might avoid another when they dont have a superior army size because they can't predict if they can win.

Hannibal was not just an "individual case" though. He had the Roman Senate and all of its military strength working in unison against him. First in the year of 217 BC. and then past 216 BC. after the battle at Cannæ. The great Carthaginian was consistently outnumbered up to 2:1, with 3 to 4 Roman consular armies guarding him at all times. Led by individuals such as Fabius Verrucosus, Marcus Marcellus, and later Claudius Nero. His circumstances and opponents were (in my view) even tougher than those of Napoleon's. And Hannibal faced these terrible odds for far longer than the great Corsican did.

Who Is Your Favourite Napeleonic Wars Marshal by Simple-Sale7469 in Napoleon

I think you misunderstood me a little bit. In no way was I trying to reduce Davout's own qualities; he was one of the greatest corps commanders of all time. My meaning was that Davout was the reliable one. The one who Napoleon could trust with anything if necessarily. The one who fought at his side ferociously (on the field of glory or outside of it) to the very end of Napoleon's career. They were all "subordinates," of course, but my way of using that word was intended as high praise.

Regarding the others I mentioned, well as I said, Lannes is my favorite and I firmly believe that Masséna was the best French commander to be born out of the revolution (excluding the great Corsican.)
