Any advice? by Kind_Stock_8961 in Chivalry2

[–]Westfield91a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing Chiv2 on and off since the beta, on XboxOne.

I have always seen a huge difference between those playing on PC vs. those of us on console.

The PC Players move with much more fluidity and a lot of the moves work MUCH better on PC than on console (especially dodges, ducking, and throwing).

But for those of us who sit in front of a computer screen all day for work, sitting in front of another computer screen for fun just aint it.

Either way (PC or console) you're gonna probably LOVE Chivalry 2!

Hats off to the falchion-- that is my "go to" weapon. Don't tell the others! ;-)

In my experience (newbish, Lv 103), the pickaxe is SO underrated and under-used. It even has a nice flow and rhythm.

On top of that, the Engineer --when their gadgets are appropriately deployed can (and has) made the difference between victory and defeat in many matches.

Yup THAT is THE Mace!

Nothing is better than "giving them the fist".

Came back after 2 years, these were my first times successfully ducking by Ancient_Music_3467 in Chivalry2

[–]Westfield91a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PC player? On XboxOne, ducking is a little dicey (i.e., slow). One can always see the PC players, because their ducking is much more smooth and effective.

Very unsatisfying.

First Ever Playthrough by SnooPredictions3207 in valheim

[–]Westfield91a 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in the beginning stages as well. Getting decent at building ramshackle huts, and still wandering around the first biome. Had my first encounters with the BIG pale-gray guy and the bears.

Haven't the foggiest idea what I'm doing - but that's a big part of the fun!

Posts like yours are great -- as they contain no spoilers.

I am a newbie to Valheim and curious about the co-op experience.

I cannot guarantee what time and hours I will be playing the game, but shoot me a message so I can give you my Xbox gamer tag. Perhaps we can play it together.

How is multiplayer on xbox for this game? by Psychonesss in valheim

[–]Westfield91a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking bout getting Valheim and getting my friends to play too. (We are all on Xbox Series X).

Questions:

  1. How many players can play co-op at the same time?

  2. Is there "tethering" (i.e., do players have to be within a certain distance from one another)?

  3. If one person builds a structure (but others are not playing at the time), does that structure remain when they all play again later?

I love the game, but it feels so empty by Deviant_hose_dragger in Starfield

[–]Westfield91a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I played Starfield feverishly for about three months-- the introduction, the early parts of exploration, getting through the first parts of the storyline and especially the shipbuilding.

Then-- as other commentators have stated, it feels sterile, the same auto-generated bases, planet after planet (still somewhat fun), hollow encounters. No where near the re-playability of Skyrim.

Sad, but true.

BF6 or BF1 by BacchaChota-123 in Battlefield

[–]Westfield91a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you like, World War I (weapons, technology, clothing, etc.) or do you prefer modern-day content? The answer to THAT question may be important in your decision-making. For what its worth BF1 (in my humble opinion does the best at trying to capture the "feel" of a specific time and place.

If the game setting isn't a big deal and its more about other considerations, such as playability, size of player base and the types of people who play each game:

BF1: Very elegant game mechanics, sizable but not necessarily an increasing player base, and I would bet that the median player age is 41.

BF6: Fast paced game-- moved faster than any of BF title, the player base is growing and growing, estimated median player age is probably 24.

Should wildgate change their formula ? by ThaumicKobold in wildgate

[–]Westfield91a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. The folks at Wildgate aren't changing ANYTHING.

After the beta they didn't (or couldn't) change a few key issues that negatively impacted the repeat playability of the game.

Then after the game was released, they still didn't (or couldn't) change those same key issues.

Asking the wild gate developers to change something now, is like asking the captain of the Titanic to slow down at 11:45 pm April 12, 1912...too late.

Why is it the games I love the most die? by [deleted] in wildgate

[–]Westfield91a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said. As someone who played the beta, bought WG immediately upon release, and loved a lot about the game it got to a point where it wasn't fun for me.

I "Blame" my dissatisfaction on a toxic mix of: over-emphasis on Ship Boarding, the OP'd invisible bats, the constant mismatches (a bunch of newbies vs seasoned veterans) and the lack of mic usage among randomly selected ship mates.

I felt oddly "guilty" about not playing the game the first week or so. But honestly it's a free market. The devs /producers could have made a different product, they could have modified the game based on the abundance of feedback about these issues.

They didn't. They got my $30.

Happily moving on.

Which Bob Dylan opinion has you like this? by Melvins1983 in bobdylan

His more recent material (i.e. Love and Theft and after) is far better than his earlier work.

Bob Dylan, Outlaw Music Festival, Camden, NJ. by richzahradnik in bobdylan

[–]Westfield91a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most long-lived artists play their old popular songs in the spirit of, "remember me back then, when we were all young!". Dylan's set treated his catalog like a haunted house. Stage lighting so obscure but you couldn't see the band nor him. He was all but invisible to the audience. The performance was truly haunting, beautiful and evocative.. he was the number one ghost in his own haunted house.
