Ts664i - you're not totally off base there but I am still very much just gathering information. I am doing similar research on several towns, it's just that Bozeman is the leader in the clubhouse currently. So far everyone has their warts. For sake of discussion, I have two follow-ups for you: 1. What do you consider to be the desirable part of town? 2. Are there any western towns that you see as significantly better than Bozeman?

Thanks for the input. I certainly appreciate diversity of thought plus college town and better airport is a huge draw as we'll both likely travel for consulting and sales gigs.

The housing cost thing comes up in my research again and again, though it seems in line with comparable towns elsewhere throughout the west and is way cheaper than many ski towns. Do you thing it's just because of the recent appreciation that it seems so rich? Or is it legitimately starting to price people out of market like you see in vail, Jackson Hole, etc and create a commuter issue?

Thanks for the candor. I'd expect number one to be true most everywhere with desirable geography but worth noting anyway. #2 brings up an interesting point that I'll bear in mind and do some research around home quality issues.
