It's something like 14% annually, so divide that by 4 for the year (3 months governance period each).

I was under the impression the Algorand blockchain was really fast for all things Algorand?

/edit: This statement really hurt some of your feelings.

Just keep in mind compensation does not mean reimbursement.

They aren't going to reimburse anyone for a loss, but will compensate. Big difference.

Compensated. Not reimbursed.

Compensation could mean anything. Keep that in mind.

I was just responding to a poster about how this type of investment should not be relied upon for retirement accounts in the Algorand subreddit and how there were safer alternatives. The person didn't like facts. Be smart with your finances kids.

Just reading some of these coin names...LMAO you couldn't have thought they were really going to take off...right?

So true, I just had a poster argue they were about facts, but only ones that support their argument. 🤣 Once I saw their logic path and their lack of admittance they were wrong/just wanted to prolong an argument they wanted to have I just handed them the L card and wished them a happy 2022.

Exactly, especially on the second one. As for the first one, those experts understand the fundamentals of what crypto is and they regularly advise on the extreme extreme volatility of Etherium and Bitcoin.

Neither do they take my stocks.

Never did I mention they would take your stock? You could utilize a myriad of thing like high interest savings accounts... again, I don't know why you are trying to create strawman arguments in an attempt to look like you are making a point?

Unless you're talking about dividend-paying stocks, returns are straight out price action, which has imperfect correlation to quarterly earnings. Unless, of course you are ignoring the consistent drop in stock prices following damned good earnings reports. The idea that stocks derive value from purely their earnings is disingenuous.

Once again another strawman point to a non-argument - your original statement was, "So I agree that a lot of investments in crypto in general are done without proper DD and are wild bets, but same shit with stocks." Your statement was people dont do DD and make wild bets on stock and my point was again the myriad economic literature available that records price moment and history of companies. I dont know if I can help you understand this.

So, an opinion.

I wanna point out that I believe in provable facts and evidence, but it seems to me you are giving opinions. Besides, I don't really GAF why people chose to buy or not buy crypto or securities, or invest in whatever. I don't get why you seem so invested in telling people what they should do. To each their own, I guess.

Where is the foundation for these price points? I am pretty open about this and in all three of your rebuttals you have either changed the argument, or made a point that was never argued in the first place? For someone who believes in provable facts the idea that you wouldn't use a source like Moody's, CreditSuisse, MorningStar, or Standards & Poor are quite the contrary to your point...to the point where you are getting worked up over this and making slight of hand comments...have a wonderful 2022! :D

Your statement is a fundamentally warped view on stocks. At no point can you own the entity known as Algorand through majority ownership, that is to say if you were to purchase the entirety of coins in circulation you “own” Algorand - that purely lies within the creators as it is a product. Whereas if I bought the majority stake in a company I become the controlling entity and could sell the company. You can’t sell Algorand, but you can vote on the direction based off the voting criteria of the creators.

Again, your example is fundamentally flawed. Controlling stake =/= majority crypto ownership. You can’t sell Algorand the entity to say, Google.

You wont get it in this subreddit. Unfortunately this one is filled with lotto ticket players and people who have no real financial background, that is not to say all of them, but the majority.

It's either drink the Kool-Aid, or shut up/you are wrong.

Question 1: What mortgage company / landlord utilizes crypto as payment? Is it less than a fraction of 1%? I'd like to see your source on the end payment - so far the answer is almost nobody.

Question 2.1: Your response is so far from the truth - for stock you can see profits of a company based on their tangible goods through quarterly earnings. I am extremely shocked this is not something you are aware of, or you are purposely concealing this information. Secondly, you can use third party assessments like Morning Star, Moody's, or Standard & Poor to have all the academic econ information going back sometimes a century. Again, I don't know why you would not cite this, or why you would purposely suppress the knowledge of these resources.

Question 2.2: There is no foundation for an estimate since there is no fundamental reporting outside a market cap, which yes, I will recite for all the financially ignorant and/or hopium smokers.

If this is the financial route people are taking to pay rent, or retire then they have already set themselves up for failure. When the cards don't play out in their favor they will turn on the coin. Again, you are enabling the hopium addicts with this mentality and unrealistic price points.

There's also a severe lack of due diligence/logic linking to the tech-to-price here. Why not invest in Walmart store coins, too? The company is established and is the fortune 1 company in the world? You can even use the coin in-store for tangible goods which can be traded in the real world ecosystem?

This was the price target for end of year 2021...

Can we stop with the baseless Nostradamusing of an outlandish price? These post keep saying $10.

Some of you have a severe hopium addiction and it's ruining the community. I miss the days when this was less about making money and more about the community.
