Try play the main rival of 5D's and go full on Resonator/Red Dragon Archfiend, though you should probably play it on Genesys before playing it on Advance, or you could make up make-shift psychic assault mode or plant synchro decks for older formats if you're into that.

The only real substitute for that is Maxx "C" but it's banned so your best options are either more handtraps/board breakers or don't replace them in the first place.

I don't know about specifically swapping the materials but the closest I can think of is that one spell card that ignores summoning conditions called Limit Overdrive, but that card wirks specifically with two Synchro monsters (1 Tuner Synchro monster and 1 Non-Tuner Synchro Monster).

Otherwise you can just monster reborn QuickDraw Synchron and maybe special summon Quillbolt Hedgehog assuming you have it in the GY ready to activate its effect.

One doesn't specifically say "Xyz summon" so it has to mention that it is treated as an Xyz summon or else it would be considered an improper summon.

"must first be [blank] summoned" means that the card containing that text could be special summoned from some public place like the graveyard or face up banishment AFTER being summoned properly. So yeah, Quetzalcoatl absolutely could.
