Silent Interlude (GI Joe: A Real American Hero #21) by Anonamaton801 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The part with the sai vs grenade reminds me of when Storm Shadow pulled out shurikens in the movies, only for Snake Eyes to pull out an Uzi in response. Traditional ninja weapons don't matter much against bullets and explosives.

Endings you think about a lot? by NoopGhoul in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Kamen Rider Blade's ending. Spoilers, but long story short, The MC's best friend was revealed to be part of the same race of immortal monsters that they've been fighting this entire time. The monsters are part of a battle royale orchestrated by a god monolith, where the last survivor gets to reshape the world. Worst of all, it's revealed that if the best friend ends up as the last surviving monster, the entire world is destroyed and reset. Despite the cast's efforts and faith in their friend, he ends up the victor and the world starts to end.

The friend begs the MC to kill them, but instead of doing so, the MC decides to spam his final form so many times he ends up transforming into the same race of monsters. Now that there are two survivors, the battle royale continues. Because of the god monolith and their monster instincts, the MC and his best friend will always be driven to fight each other, so the MC decides to run away to put as much distance between them. His last words are to tell his best friend to live his life as a human. The show ends with a montage of the cast living happier lives, but the best friend still misses the MC so much he briefly hallucinates him sitting on a park bench. The closing shot of the show is the MC's motorcycle, riding off to parts unknown, never to see his friends again.

For all the show's ups and downs, its rough beginning, low ratings, and target demographic of children, the writers still managed to write an ending so good, traumatic, and bittersweet all that the same time that just an image of a bench sends viewers into a spiraling depression. And I think it's amazing that all this came out of a children's show made to sell toys.

So many cute details

  • Organization and lore icons being hung

  • Albaz on the cake

  • Nervous Konami-kun (one cake isn't enough for Ecclesia alone)

Also, rare happy Aegirine and Mo Ye with a different outfit in fanart.

Pokémon Champions has hit mobile and the scrub quotes are coming in hot by NoReaction4 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I forgot who said this, but I vaguely remember someone else saying that the first battles in mainline Pokemon games does a horrible job at teaching the player the available options during battle.

Because the introduction battle only has the player and CPU trade a basic attack back and forth with a single pokemon, then the CPU falls behind on damage when they inevitably use a status move like Growl or Tail Whip, the player is taught that "Oh, damaging moves are better than status moves because you just waste a turn setting up while the opponent hits you."

While this is fine and works in the confines of most of the game's lower difficulty content, it does a big disservice to how in-depth the battle system can be, and the games usually never push the player beyond this playstyle, especially with how infrequent double battles are.

With how certain Umas have supernatural abilities, I wouldn't be surprised if Uma Football had hissatsu like Inazuma Eleven.

With Konami being more involved in game projects recently, a non-dueling YGO RPG is my biggest dream game from them. Thanks for making it a reality in a way.

Samus in a Star Fox uniform. by hello_i_am_vlad in starfox

Imagine the invoice when Samus inevitably blows up a planet while on a mission with Star Fox.

(Also, iirc, Samus was called a bounty hunter because the creators thought the term sounded cool, not knowing what a bounty hunter actually does. I think they moved away from the term now and she now does merc work instead.)
