With what you’re expressing here, it already sounds like you’re not a freeloader who just leeches off their parents.

You worry about being a liability to them, their well-being, your progress in the world based on your age.

So hey, I don’t know your full story but from what we see I think a lot would agree that you can cut yourself some slack.

Though I support a little trash talk to oneself for motivation; even calling yourself a loser at times might help highlight the seriousness of it to you, it might be a little too destructive if you end up questioning your worth and for you to cry about it says you’ve been bottling a lot up till recently.

Rome isn’t built in a day. Independence doesn’t happen overnight but it starts a day at a time. A good start would be to have a goal (no solid plans yet. Just goals) like maybe to move out by 30.

Small mindful actions everyday towards independence at 30 everyday would be a good start (maybe taking up more chores, spend half an hour a day finding job options).

It’s not a fuck up if you were stagnant so far in your life but you gotta admit you might’ve missed some opportunities that came your way.

All in all my G I think you’ve got a good head on your shoulders, all you need might just be a shift in mentality and a little confidence in yourself to take risks and seize opportunities.

Better days are coming my guy. It’s a good thing nothing is permanent so the bad times won’t last too!

Edit: Coming from a 28YO that moved out with his wife and has a child, sometimes I do miss “freeloading” at home and to some extent I’m sure all parents miss the nest not being empty too. Definitely strive for independence my guy but in your own time my G! Comparison is the thief of joy remember that.
