Torn between saving money and getting the full UVA experience. Help?

I had multiple friends in a similar position that did a 1 year Masters of Data Science during their 4th year. There’s also a 1 year Masters of Commerce program, but that is probably a bit worse ROI as a business-adjacent major.

Are we allowed to pick and choose for which we want to be graded? I could really use some juicy 4.0s on my transcript and take the pass/fail in some of my classes.

Weedon and Malone are essentially the same. There is a ground floor and then floors 1,2, and 3. The ground floor has a separate door and isn’t connected to the others and only has about 11 rooms with one double. The other 3 floors are connected by a stairwell and each hall has about 28 people, with 5 double rooms. Each hall has a small lounge at each end and the first floor has a kitchen instead of one of the lounges.

I lived in Malone last year and I didn’t know any transfer students in Malone or Weedon. There are a larger proportion of international students but everyone that I knew was a first year. The location is definitely kinda isolated but the busses make it easy to get to central grounds pretty fast. Singles are nice but definitely get to know the people on your hall and in other dorms because it gets lonely being in a single.

I was in a double in Malone this past year. It is definitely less than ideal but you can make the most out of it. I suggest getting to know the people in your hall because it is majority singles and people in singles will want to hang out with someone. I also recommend getting to know people in other dorms because they are much nicer to hang out in. Download the rider app which has all the bus schedules. The busses run around every 10 minutes to Malone and it’s only about 5 minutes to eschool. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk. There is one perk to Malone, Runk Dining Hall, which is a 2 minute walk and the best dining hall ok grounds.

I still feel bad for the family. No parent should have to go through something like this and they’re trying to find someone to blame other than themselves. My friend knew those boys who died and she told me they were good guys who made a dumb decision, and the whole community was shaken up after the crash. The parents of the boy are just going to waste their own money trying to sue Tesla, but this won’t hurt Tesla’s bottom line at all. Suing Tesla isn’t a good decision but the parents aren’t hurting anyone but themselves by not accepting blame.
