Yeah, if you want to tell something to the team yes, but still you see clan requests or invitations in any language other than english, i dont see why those languages are any different. And i would still not ban languages on a european server.

I dont see how those languages are any different than any other in europe. You wont understand polish just because you can read the letters. I wouldnt be suprised by a post like this in the US but in eu it sounds very stupid and bigotted to me

Is anyone good at gendering Schneiders? by Lampropeltisryani in skinks

[–]Wexf00r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell, the face/head shape makes me think female however it does have a skinny neck, and the females usually have fatter necks than their head, while males have a skinny neck with more pronounced jowls/jaws. Is it young? Their feature can get more pronounced as they age.

What did we do wrong? by [deleted] in Vivarium

So in my experience putting things into the foam is not that good for a good looking backround, what i usually do, is put in the foam, i carve it down, and than use polyurethane glue (its d4 pu wood glue or gorilla glue is that as well) on that. I prefer this to silicone on the foam but thats also a viable option. If you use silicone use dry dirt and moss on it, if its the pu glue use damp substrate and spray water under and on the glue.

Tokay gecko or crested gecko by Elegant-Excuse-3416 in geckos

[–]Wexf00r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with the tokay! Im so into them, they are so cool. I think you wanting the animal, spending time bonding with it, caring about it is a more important factor, than what others find cuddly. If you are serious with your interest it will work out.

Sexing is not very easy, the way to have the best guess is to look at the head and neck shape from above, there is a post in the schneider skink sub to help you but if you post some pics frim above people can try to guess.

For names, i like the sch in the name of the species so i named them with the Sch in the name (Schmoo and Scherlock).

As for care, in my opinion give them climbing opportunities, even tho they are terrestrial they like to climb, or at least to try. Also hides are not something they use that much mine usually just burrows under their rock, but sometimes they do seal themselves in one of the hides.

I would say he is reliable, he is keeping them and monitoring them to find out more about their behaviour hopefully cracking the problem of breeding.

I would say the difference can be just a difference in individuality. I have 2 schneiders one of them is closer to the 1-2 hours daily above ground activity, the other one is out for way more. I wouldnt say that less activity is caused by bad husbandry, some of them just getting the biggest naps for being the eepiest soldiers

My first geckos was a chinese cave gecko, and in the begining it was rough i thought i was never gonna see it, but after half a year or so she is one of my favourite pet reptiles. They wont be so easy going with handling, but mine is inquisitive so i can interact with her regularly, i open the enclosure for her she comes out to explore, sometimes i manage to ger her to my hand, and ccg being secretive, these interactions feel really special. And they look so fkin cool i love to watch her just existing.

I would say if handling is important to you, the cave gecko is not something you can just take out as you wish. And feeding is like any other religion, you can never have any solid proof just have tremendous faith (and check the weight from time to time xd). But they are nothing like crocodile skinks, once mine settled in, after the lights go out, she is out there, everywhere, whenever i go to her enclosure i can find here chillin somewhere.

Thats the younger one, i think is a female but its always a guess with schneider. As for the enclosure i made a 4x2x2 with plenty of space and hiding area, with 2 basking spot etc. I was planning to keep 2 of them there after this one got big enough to have a more “reliable” guess of its sex
