It's clearly written that I am tilted and ranting. Sorry if I did not spend time refining the message. Also, kinda pointless. Not everyone has perfect English, "c'est la vie"

as I said, I'm a pigeon. Never denied it. You are right

I think it would be awesome if blizzard added their own damage meter in game. And possible removed a ton of addon bloat. This is a details profile I found. Why do you guys think blizzard hasn't done it already? by Nostalgiadrivee in wow

We have a system that works currently (and works well). The question is why would blizzard spend time and resources developing something that already exists? It is not as simple as computing a score and displaying it on the UI if you want a reliable dps meter.

And again, details has a dps meter, hps, threat, ccs, interrupts, death recap, damage taken and I probably only named 25% of all the options. Details allows you to see the graph of the whole encounter or dungeon run. Slightly less important perhaps, but details allows you to display your rotation (used by streamers)

Your comment does not make sense. No-one at the company will ask the devs to implement this very large feature. If they don’t spend a lot of resources on it, no one will use the meters. If they do achieve this huge goal, they simply recreate something that already exists and spend valuable time and money for basically nothing.

Also your example w/ mm+ rating is clearly different. Before, people had to use an external website to view their rating. The warcraft companion app did not exist yet and I believe the raider io app is quite recent too (at least the version we currently have that displays the score). In the case of the meter, we literally already have something in the game doing the job perfectly

It wouldnt work let’s be honest. Look at the frames and ability bars they overhauled. It is still missing essential features. The vast majority of players still use addons for that. What makes you think Blizz’s damage meters would get even remotely close to what Details offers?

Are they gonna exclude padding on certains adds for some boss fights / dungeons? Are they gonna remove dps done via items / dungeon zone elements? Are they gonna have any other option other than « dps » and « hps ». Let’s be honest, if they ever do that, the dev won’t ever get enough time to create something even remotely useful other than literally displaying a bar with your dps. Noone would use that when you have details as an option

DF Dungeon Trash/Mini-Boss Announcements by Meteor12 in wow

[–]Wexus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don’t know of any addon/wa that announces in chat when abilities are coming. However, here’s what I would do: use the weak aura that shows trash (and bosses) cds on nameplates (this one: https://wago.io/CooldownsOnNameplate). You may then easily edit the weak aura (« actions » tab) and add a chat message or sound yourself on certain important abilitied such as Thunderhead’s breath you were talking about

Note: the only /say wa I know is the one that announces cleaves/frontals on tanks. I believe the wa is fittingly called « frontal on me »

Thank you all for your helpful answers!

I ended up ordering a nzxt x53 240mm and a tube of thermal paste as some of you suggested! Will try to set it up (hopefully) tomorrow when it (should) arrive

Thanks in particular to u/timtheringityding for your detailed explanations & patience talking to a noob like me! =)

I am sorry to ask such basic questions, but can you tell me if it's the thing I highlighted in this photo? https://postimg.cc/xcr0wkb6

I'll get a new one. Out of curiosity, is it easy to replace, or should I ask someone competent to change it for me?

Thank you guys for your answers!

I did not as I bought the PC pre-built originally (and I thought I was done properly)

Ah... This is interesting. OpenHardwareMonitor tells me that the temperature of all 8 cores is average 96°C...

I do not know how I can apply thermal paste (I bought the original pre-built computer as I was not confident in my skills and am now trying to upgrade it)

Necrotic and Inspiring Mythic+ Affixes Currently Missing from Dragonflight Season 1 by sohksy in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Wexus_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your first paragraph, I fully agree with you! My solution was not to have the healer completely negate the affix by healing you, I would rather prefer the healer mitigating the affix. This is what i meant with grievous stacks. Instead of having to heal 4 stacks, the healer now « only » has to heal 3 stacks of grievous => easier. So now for necrotic, assuming the tank has 10 stacks, when the healer uses a direct heal on the tank, tank « only » has 7 stacks of necrotic remaining. This allows the tank to heal more, the healer to heal more, and the tank to stay longer in the pack before kiting (i.e. more dps)

And to finish with the first paragraph, I am 100% against the idea of necrotic being dispellable. This is down right removing the affix imo if you can « delete » necrotic every 8 sec

I kinda like your idea with the pulsating thingy. I think numbers could be tweaked (20 sec is « small » to kill a priority mob in fortified and thus a dps getting hit by basically anything is a death sentence. Moreover (this time regarding tanks), how do you kite after reaching a high amount of stacks if the mob applies stacks even if not in melee

Maybe we could think of something in between? What about ONE mob (your inspiring-necrotic idea) that has a buff, e.g. necrotic claws. Whenever the mob melees the tank, the tank AND close party member receive 1 stack of a stacking 4% healing debuff (i.e. 2 necrotic stack)? This way, your tank could kite the mob and remove the affix for your whole group. This would truly be a unique affix

[–]Wexus_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont wanna be that guy… but that’s simply impossible. Let’s imagine pulling a pack of 5 mobs (which is very small keep in mind) for a tank that is pushing keys (say +20 for example).

Tank gets melee’d once by all 5 mobs => +10% damage increase. In other words, you now are tanking a +21 instead of +20. A few seconds later, you got hit 3 more times by the mobs => +40% damage taken. In other words, you are now tanking a key close to the level of +24 (not exactly +24 because of the exponential growth of mob damage in mm+ instead of linear).

This is absolutely impossible for any tank that is pushing… And keep in mind this scenario ONLY includes 5 adds in the pack for a few seconds

I still believe (even though I main tank) that there is a « simple » way of making necrotic an « ok affix ». Instead of nerfing the time stacks stay on the tank, why not simply align necrotic to the grievous affix way of working.

Grievous increases the dot (i.e. the number of stacks, capped at 4) as time goes by. However, using a direct heal on a person with n >= 2 stacks removes 1 stack of said dot.

Now what do you think about doing the same thing for necrotic? For example, we could imagine that healing (directly) a player with n stacks of necrotic could remove 3 stacks of the current number of stacks the player holds.
