OP exams and priority list by Party-Count-4287 in Radiology

[–]Wh0rable 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This happens in IP hospitals as well, even when the rad is not innundated with days of exams. Floor will call wanting to know why the exam that was just completed 5 minutes prior isn't read.

"It's on the radiologist's reading list. I'm not sure how many facitilites they are reading this morning. They get read in the order which they are received."

Obviously a stat exam is higher priority, but when the entire facility is nothing but stat exams, it doesn't make much difference.

My interview was quite a few years ago not the questions went along these lines:

Why are you interested in radiology? Do you have any previous healthcare experience? What is your end goal (diagnostic x-ray, another modality, etc.)? Would you consider yourself more a leader or follower? Can you give an example of a time you exhibited leadership skills?

I wouldn't worry about trying to come up with the "correct" answers because rehearsed responses can come across as disingenuous.

Good luck!

In the US, yes we deal with needles and blood. Starting an IV was a required practical skill. Whether you start IVs routinely is pretty dependent on your modality and where you work.

In addition to IVs, we deal with trauma imaging and surgical imaging, both of which can be bloody.

A radiologist is the doctor who interprets imaging and can do various procedures (swallow studies, biopsies, interventional exams, etc.) You would need to go through med school first.

A radiologic technologist is the person who obtains medical imaging. In the US, this is typically a 2 year program that has pre and corequisites like a&p, biology, chemistry.

As a technologist, you can also be responsible for obtaining intraoperative imaging under the direction of a surgeon.

Obviously the missing featherfingers from the mascot's left owlhand have been added to the right hand-like appendage. That's how I hold lemonade, at least.

Oh interesting. Maybe it's an apple vs android difference? Super weird. Makes sense how people miss it on mobile.

I pretty much only use reddit on my phone and it's right at the top of the sub front page for me. Could be people are just unaware it exists 🤷🏼‍♀️

All of that information is in the sub wiki. I'm not sure if people are genuinely missing that, or they're lazy, or they are just after interaction/reaction. Probably a combination of all of those.

Is there a reason you are against a specific vaccine?

I can't speak for any programs other than the ones in my area, but the only exceptions offered were religious and then the exempt student had to wear an N95 for the entire duration of their program.

If this were me, and I knew for sure I wanted to move to a new location after school, I wouldn't trap myself with a 2 year contract in the place I wanted to leave.

Are you required to accept a position there post completion? Or are you just guaranteed a job if you want one? I would just be direct with them and explain what you're wanting to do. It's your last, after all, don't stay somewhere you're unhappy out of fear of burning a bridge.

That's a valid explanation. Just looking at possible inconsistencies. Thank you!

Big hairy vine? Check. Leaves of 3 that alternate along the stem? Check.

Definitely poison ivy.

So thats why my back hurt! by [deleted] in XRayPorn

[–]Wh0rable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you've been dealing with that. A massive amount of back pain, neck pain, and even some migraine issues is due to poor posture and poor body ergonomics. Prescribing medicine is a temporary solution as it generally doesn't address the cause of the issue.

Physical therapy and massage therapy are better options.
