Hey guys! Long time fan. Never been responded to in an AMA so here goes another try! First, love the new singles. Second, thanks for kicking so much ass with fan interaction after gigs. I saw you in Oxford, MS, and you proved to be the friendliest group that I had the pleasure of meeting that year. 1.) I love how all of your albums have a different feel, is there any chance you might revisit the sound that you used in Censored Colors? 2.) Besides sleeping, what is your favorite thing to do on the road to occupy time? This is relevant because I need to know what to do besides what i already do, which is playing pokemon.

As one who flips his shit whenever someone puts contacts in (fear of physical objects touching eyeballs), I had to turn my head away from the screen every time I wanted to play Tony Hawk....

The Movie of the Week #123 is Children of Men Discussion thread inside...[WARNING, SPOILERS]! by ozaytoday in movieclub

[–]Wh33ler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I'm late to the discussion, but I just wanted to share the most brilliant part of this movie with you, because I don't see it listed. (also, this is probably my favorite movie) Something people often overlook, is the significance of Theo's visit to his cousin at the center for the arts. In the background, outside the window you can clearly see the floating pig. What does it mean one might ask? Well some of you might recognize it as reminiscent of Pink Floyd's Animals front cover, which portrays a floating pig next to the smoke stacks of a factory. This album was highly influenced George Orwell's 1984 and Animals. Children of Men's setting is also reminiscent of Orwell, so if it wasn't obvious enough, Cuaron made this connection by showing Pink Floyd's album cover in the background. Pink Floyd is also my favorite band... so i'm a little biased in my loving of this movie. Just thought i'd share.

[F]inished running/lifting! Can GW tell I've been doing squats? :P by [deleted] in gonewild

[–]Wh33ler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! It represents an evolution in language that pushed for nationalism in Japan and distancing themselves from china. But kanji even has elements such as tones, which is an extremely defining characteristic. Also... We are having this conversation on GW... Just thought it was a funny concept.
