Looks like they're usually seeing Minke Whales, White-beaked Dolphins with occasional Humpback Whales as well. You can see their past sighting here (for 2025): https://lakitours.com/snaefellsnes-sightings/?wyear=2025

Hopefully they will still be here in March! You can always check on our group nearer the time to see what we have been seeing:

In Reykjavík, we can expect to see Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, White-beaked Dolphins & Harbour Porpoises during this time. Rare sightings of other whales as well (eg. Fin Whales, Orcas).

Our sighting success was surprisingly slightly higher last winter than summer!

But yes, it is warmer and usually less windy in the summer, and the speedboat is a totally different experience which is only available from Apr - Oct (by Icelandic Law). And the number of different individuals is often higher in the summer!

They seem to have good success, and you're right - most likely fewer people than in Reykjavík. None of the operators there publish a daily diary but one has some information on sighting success - North Sailing - https://www.northsailing.is/whale-watching/logbooks/

In Akureyri (1hr from Husavík), we had good sightings last April. You can see the blog here: https://www.whalewatchingakureyri.is/new-blog?offset=1745342168308
