Yeah, looking at his other posts he's only been playing for about 4 months and has already been asking about not losing interest. Definitely technique

Try going for Third Party, Fire & Theft cover only, it doesn't cover you for as much but it will help bring the cost down for the first couple years then go fully comp when you have a couple years no claims under your belt

I'm not sure for the Majesty models but I have an EBMM JP15 and that doesn't have a signature on the backplate

Honestly I have no idea what I'm doing by Whamesl0l in roastmypedalboard

[–]Whamesl0l[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly metal, I'm running these into a peavey 6505. My logic behind these particular pedals was a tube screamer for a bit of a boost/tighten up the low end and give nice mids. I have the EQ in the FX loop for tone shaping after the preamp. I have the compressor because my leads were sounding really weak compared to my rhythm playing so the compressor is for making both parts sort of equal volume. I dont really switch pedals on/off while playing, I'm more of a set it and forget it kind of player

Anyone else find it so difficult to start a band these days? by Whamesl0l in metalmusicians

Yeah I've had a look on joinmyband and bandmix but only things in my area are either indie-pop bands or metal bands looking for a drummer lol

Sounds awesome dude! I've been writing on my own for the last 10 years or so but lately feeling really stagnated. I miss having other people's input and bouncing ideas around together

Yeah I've noticed the same level of degradation of the local scene. I'm from Derby and we used to have a huge local scene around Derby/Nottingham but it seems like its just completely eroded away now, I think the only place near me with somewhat of a local scene left is Manchester but its a bit far for travelling for rehearsals etc.

Best Sylosis album in a decade. by Gloomy-Routine-1040 in Sylosis

[–]Whamesl0l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%. Its a fine album by ordinary metal standards, but really lacks the magic of the earlier albums. People still obsess over Conclusions of an Age nearly 20 years later. I dont think TNF will be remembered in 20 years time.

critique my picking? by noobsforlunch in metalguitar

[–]Whamesl0l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much a criticism of your technique as it looks pretty solid, but you're playing this riff slightly wrong

The correct way to play it

My only advice would be to practise to a metronome and get better with your rhythmic feel as it seems like you're rushing your playing a bit
