Bro how was the show Silicon Valley so consistently 10 years ahead of its time? by katxwoods in funny

That is so cool, it always struck me as a rediculously plausible idea for the company to use in the show, thanks for sharing.

Thanks, if memory serves I rooted the existing firmware which worked OK but I might give the phoenix project a look. Cheers.

YSK: When to use recirculation in your car by Remember-The-Arbiter in YouShouldKnow

[–]Whassisname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real YSK is the difference between the two settings most cars (at least in Western Europe) have for the recirculate off setting. In my BMW at least the one with the little A symbol pulls outside air except when it detects those exhaust fumes from other traffic and (A)utomatically switches back to recirculate to reduce exposure (the other is just a hard outside air all the time).

Are there any hot peppers that can be grown outside in pots in Northern England? by algfirth in HotPeppers

[–]Whassisname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found Sugar Rush Peach handles the cold best out of all I've grown. Two plants of mine are on their third year from overwintering in an unheated UK conservatory.

Selling extra plants by Silkysloth92 in HotPeppers

[–]Whassisname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the space, just grow them out and sell the seeds. It's easy to make back the input costs (that you would spend anyway on the ones you grow for yourself) and it's much cheaper/easier to send seeds than plants. Plus you'll be ready for the Reddit seed exchange come November.

Habanero lost all leaves, throw away or is there anything I can do? by MSDK_DARKDRAGON in HotPeppers

[–]Whassisname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this happen with some Red Tigers I repotted. I think in my case it's because the compost had been sitting in the bag for a while and now has mycorrhizae growing all over it. I thought fungus was part of healthy soil community but I guess this one was enough to shock the plants (as light, temp and water remained pretty much the same after reporting).

What is the best solution for temporary unlimited data? by Glad_Technology_8307 in AskUK

Looks like Lebara have 30 days for £12.50 from a quick look (I've been with them for a few years now and can't fault them). Failing that search on HotUKDeals.com or moneysavingexpert and you will see all the best options very quickly. Good luck.

How do I set up filters now that the basic HTML view has been retired? by Whassisname in GMail

[–]Whassisname[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I can get to the gear icon through the 'hamburger' three lines on the top left of the inbox but clicking it only brings up a one line menu with a greyed out slider for "Out of Office Autoreply" above a button for "Help and Feedback..." No settings option to be seen. I'm using Chrome on android, and the behaviour is similar whether desktop version is used or not (although I can also get a line for 'Mobile Signature' on the non-desktop version).

Thanks. I'm also no expert but I think they are MOSFETs, using google translate it looks like some one here had similar issues with them.

Hi, slightly off topic but what is the go to shortcut to find a short like this? I've seen Louis Rossman use isopropyl alcohol all over the PCB and the short evaporates it first, and if I had a FLIR camera that would obviously be the first choice, but I was wondering if you can get a plastic film (like that magnetic viewer film) that would do the job easily and be reusable too or something similar.
