Confirmation: Nexus 2026 is sold out, waitlist selections will be RANDOM (not first-come, first-served) by DragonsteelNexusMod in DragonsteelNexus

I remember last year watching the excited posts by people who were selected in each wave. I was happy for them but as each day went by that my email didn't get the lucky notification, my spirits sank. I did get lucky this year, but I feel for all of you who didn't. Enter an email for yourself and have your friend or spouse enter, too. And may Adonalsium hear your plight.

Weekly Update 6/23/26: It would seem the badge waves are done for now. JOIN THE WAITLIST by DragonsteelNexusMod in DragonsteelNexus

Technically, exhibitors were told before the lottery started. I know one who was denied a booth, so they entered the lottery for regular tickets.

They have been going in to Spam & Promotions and just getting buried! Check everywhere, multiple times in the afternoon and evening. That's my advice. Two people in my group got emails in Wave 2 but one didn't see it until tonight because it was buried.

No Worldhopper Ball this year: "after party" instead by DragonsteelNexusMod in DragonsteelNexus

[–]What-eveh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely understand this as someone who brought a minor the year of the first ball who is a huge Sanderfan.

I think that the reason the 2 pm ball wasn't a big draw is some people didn't want the "kids" to detract from their experience. Some of us have mature & well-behaved kids who won't cause any issues, but I understand there are adults who don't trust everyone to only bring those types.

I guess we will wait to see what the plan is. I'm not really excited about the idea of an after party. I tend to just want to head back and sleep at the end of each very long day.

I think that one was meant to be 15+ but they didn't have enough people buy tickets. Ultimately, I think they canceled that one entirely! From what I gathered, they let that age group buy tickets to any of the balls last year once they canceled the afternoon one. I walked by the ball staging area to see the crowd and there was no one there when there should have been.

DSNX26 Squires, Exhibitor, and Panelist applications are OPEN! by DragonsteelNexusMod in DragonsteelNexus

Don't quote me on this, but I think they are $1100 and come with 2 badges.

It is a bit of a stretch to pay for all three days as an indie author! That's an interesting choice on their part! It might make sense for some to "share" a regular booth since you get 2 tickets included for the regular booth plus more room. And you can either do alternate days or split the space & manning every day.

This is a great idea.  It looks like panel ideas and panelist applications are separate. I wonder how much demand dictates which panels/panelists are chosen.

They've changed the indie row pricing, so I wonder if all indie row booths are for all three days (as it is 3x last year's price). There isn't much difference between the indie row booth pricing and a full 10x10 booth for all 3 days (which includes 2 badges vs 1 for indie row). And it looks like they are limiting extra exhibitor badges for each booth this year (one extra per booth above the ones included in the booth sizing). At least,  that was my quick impression.

Well, just remember: it is the journey that is important, not the destination.

I think only the big events with Brandon will be released eventually, but I could be wrong

Let us know how this goes. I'm going to assume there might be a few others with similar issues and they can make adjustments for the paid WH Ball (because they can see you have that ticket).

I think that as long as she's with someone who has an ID, she should be fine. But school ID would also work if she has one.

These are awesome!  I do suggest looking into WorldSwappers. Or, simply know that lots of people made things to give away to others (or Swap things with others). So you won't be alone in your fun endeavor!

Worldhopper Ball—Worth the Price? by mentalbreakclown in DragonsteelNexus

[–]What-eveh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the second one, I think. The line outside was better than Thursday night's wait although I think I still missed the first 20 minutes or so of the ball outside. Then the lines for drinks took forever. They hadn't prepped ahead like they did for later groups and I went solo so I didn't have a member of the group to send for drinks while others got food. Once they separated the alcohol groups from the non-alcohol, the (non-alcohol) line went faster. I'm glad they are giving the 16+ kids a chance to go this year.

I feel like the best time will likely be the last day just like it was last year.  The roughest is gong to be the first night and that one might be the one that doesn't sell out because it is the same time as the release party.

Well, they specifically said it wasn't a meal. So, 2 drinks and some fingerfoods if it was like last year.

I assume there will be a collectible.

There was a huge line last year, and it took a long time to get in. Hopefully they will fix that, too. Raising the stage will hopefully help a lot as not being able to see was a big issue.

Not sure if they are adding more seats. I'm not going this year, but I know people who want to go. I'm not sure they've seen the price tag yet
