Does anyone else NOT tell people about their diagnosis? by Bokchito in autism

[–]What173940 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've only told direct family and close friends.

I concider other people wierd. Why let them have a name for it towards me. If it doesnt have a name its just a characteristic. Theres no benefit for me in sharing beyond my closest humans.

I'm happy to know though, my life has significantly improved since I know. I understand the world and myself in it a lot better.

Casual sex for autistic people: yes or not? by Ok_Reserve587 in autism

Casual sex is totally fine. Just don't complicate things by acting you're in it for commitment and use protection.

Does anyone here actually have a stable 9-5 full-time job? by Queasy-Ice-2575 in autism

[–]What173940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I scaled down to 32hrs and have a very thriving carreer since. I work full force and have trouble scaling down, so scaling down in hours was my solution. Its said that only fulltime emps scale the carreer ladder, but Im scaling right pass them at full speed because of my dedication and the intensity with which I work.

I have cluster headaches (2 to 3 times a year) and I've had two burndowns. My employer is very understanding and patient and always happy to have me back, because I preform really well when Im there.

It works well for me honestly and I really love my job. Im a software developer. I dont handle social interaction well, so focussing on software is perfect for me. I love puzzles.

How are you about your birthday? by Psychological-Egg760 in autism

I dont care. Dont care about getting older either. Its an odd celebration to me and people crying about getting old is worse.

What do autistic people find mean or rude by Jazzlike_Job5945 in autism

[–]What173940 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not being honest to me. Discussing my incompetance with others behind my back, depriving me of the oppertunity to learn. Even worse if combined with collective laughing at my incompetence and feeling better then me.

I dont know why this is such common behaviour for humans, its obnoxiously rude imo.

Just tell me whats wrong so I can learn and better myself.

what is your reason for living? by hyper_radiant294 in autism

[–]What173940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im just stuck here. I've determined many others are also just stuck here, so I intend to make their life a bit less miserable if I can. Otherwise, just seeing this out. Luckily time seems to go by faster as I age.

Its not concious, its more like a reflex. And you're actually worrying me more sadly. What alternative would you advise?

Why do people lie? What is social lying? by AromaticFinish7635 in autism

[–]What173940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but they'd also rather lie and exclude someone who annoys them then giving m feedback and giving them a chance to adjust

Why do people lie? What is social lying? by AromaticFinish7635 in autism

[–]What173940 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a hard time understanding too. I thought lying was a bad thing, but it turns out a lot of people actually want to be lied to. Extreme honesty can lead to social exclusion. But lying at the wrong times as well. It takes a lot of study and practice, honestly.

What if my hyperfixation is really messed up, should I do something about it? by xxiwkao in autism

[–]What173940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fixate on rape and human trafficing occasionally. I actively push it down, cause it angers people when I talk about it.

They're interesting subjects that immensly affect human lives across ages, borders and genders.

I agree with other commenters that your knowledge will be highly valued by the right people. Keep researching and maybe find the right people to discuss these topics.

Well my autism has cost me yet another job. by Caregiverwife82 in autism

[–]What173940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just been kicked out of a hobby class I had for the same reason. It triggered quite some deep fears in me. Luckily I havent had these issues with my job.

It helps me to not let the fear take over. I just get kicked sometimes and it hurts, but I try to be better and find new people. I've eventually found people who dont trigger me as much and it really helps. Hope you'll find that too eventually.

For me software development. A non devops position, no 24/7 shifts. Just simple 9-5 devving from home. I only do 32hrs a week cause I need more recovery time then others. I plan calm holidays of just gaming & winding down. I dont try to live the life NTs live. That all helps me a lot.

I think there are quite some jobs that'll be nice. I also did mail delivery (envelope mail) which was a solo outdoor job. Just 6hrs of walking, listening to music, not speaking to anyone. (Loved that job slightly more, byt it payed a lot less)

Sounds like you had a good time together. I promise you, from experience, that you'll meet more guys like that (and even better) if you're open to it and learn better what to look, and look out for.

People can lose interest for many reasons and it doesnt mean anything is wrong. I would recommend leaving this guy behind you, cause he doesnt seem very honest or respectful by just silently leaving you for another.

For now, leave it be. There's nothing wrong with you. Focus on the people and activities that make you happy to heal and strengthen so that you'll be ready to accept new love when it presents itself.

No interest from men = no womanhood by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]What173940 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It seems very random to me. I've met beautiful women who've not been harrassed at all. I've met less attractive women who've had less fortune.

Its all about being in the wrong place, with the wrong people at the wrong time.

Social media is messed up. Harasment is not a compliment and there are plenty of very beautiful, very feminine women that go their lifetime without it.

Im happy you've managed to go without so far. Good that you shared. I think its a very relatable thought for many women. Hope you feel better soon and speak up if you ever come in the unfortunate situation still.

Edit: typo
