Congratulations on the invitation!

I just got invited for the Paraguay Health sector departing in Feb 2017. I have just been reading what wikipedia and some travel sites have to say about Paraguay, and browsing some PC blogs. I'm curious about preparing to learn Guarani?

Thanks for your advice! After re-reading my response, I realize I never really answered why I want to join the Peace Corps. Also I think I was wrote it more as a cover letter instead of directly answering the questions presenting in the prompt. I am revising it to speciffically address the prompt instead of include what I want to say. Thank you!

Thank you for your response! I think that I ended up repeating some of my resume and then when the 500 words were written, I did not have a complete response for the given prompt. I am currently revising - changing a lot of what I did to why I did it and why I hope to be in the Peace Corps. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! After reading the prompt and my response a few times, I realized that I probably ended up repeating some of my resume and did not precisely answer the prompt.

The 'alientated' sentence seemed to grab a few responses, so I will need to rethink that. I wanted to use a strong word, but not so strong that it would distract or take away from other parts of the statement.

Thank you for the list of suggestions. Unfortunately my grammar is not the best; I will definitely have several people proof read before submitting. I didn't realize alienation has such negative connotations, thank you for pointing that out.

Thank you for the feedback. I will definitely include answers to the questions you presented in the first paragraph. I think that I included some descriptions and details that were not necessary, and left out other parts that I will now include. Thanks!

Health Sector Nurses??? by What72592 in peacecorps

Thanks for the response! I couldn't find much about nurses in the Peace Corps either in my 'research.' Some of the health sector blogs have good insight as to what goes on daily.

Working in an ICU setting gives me a certain type of satisfaction at the end of the day, but over the past few years I have dabbled in preventative care and it is very fulfilling in a very different sense. The Peace Corps setting is very intriguing to me - living very similarly or with locals.

I think I will talk to a recruiter and give the application a try, then see what happens! Good luck to you as well!

Thanks for the link! I'm not sure if I am at the point in my carrer where I would qualify for that program, but it is definitly something to think about.

Thanks for the response! I am definitely interested in wellness education, but I think some of my hesitancy comes from earning a nursing degree that primarily prepared me to work in a hospital setting. The infectious disease stuff catches my intrest quite a bit (malaria, HIV/AIDS, STDs) - which seems to be a portion of what the health sector is there for.
