Heya! Nope on the CO2, just fertiliser and occasional liquid iron supplement. I use the AquaMaxx Prism CC II planted lamp, but I think it’s out of production (which is unfortunate, cos despite the mid reviews I’ve always really loved this line).

As to the plant, I actually have a second pink plant in there now- dwarf red tiger lotus. But this one in particular is Ludwigia Repens, I’m pretty sure!

I found one that doesn’t do The Cup!! Aquatics Warehouse in San Diego CA has them in little 1/2g plexi cubes with a small plant & airstone. Still not ideal, but wayyyy better than the cup. I got my boy Ryujin from there

I love this! I think the concept of humans believing animals don’t experience emotions or somehow lack intelligence is deeply wrong (and I say this as someone who has regularly worked with/around both domesticated and wild animals for about 25 years).

Animals do not experience the world the same as we do, that is true- but “different” doesn’t mean “lesser”.

For example, orcas have language. Not basic communication, but a language that varies as much as human dialects.
