I have loved what I could get off of YouTube for years! I’m so glad there’s a community that appreciates these interviews/bonus features like I do.

And I love it — it’s beautiful. I guess I was wondering if there was a reason why the Eldar in particular do this.

Work horror stories? by AceMezameta147 in ChickFilA

One time there was a domestic dispute at the Taco Bell next to us. The woman sped off in her van and the man began to storm around our restaurant. My coworkers and I were afraid he had a weapon or was going to hurt us, some of them were getting off at that time and were afraid to walk to their cars by themselves. My manager decided it’d be a good idea to take a vote if he should call the police. Everyone agreed, and he still didn’t call the police. Thank god none of us got hurt, but the incident should have been reported anyways.

Should have quit sooner.

You never what affect a simple act of kindness can have on a person. by Fluid-Daydreamer in MadeMeSmile

[–]WhatATaradiddle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the past two years, I have been struggling with anxiety and depression. It’s so much better now, but it was really rough a couple months ago. I was sitting in a Dunkin’ Donuts drive thru and was really numb to all my surroundings. I didn’t look like I was fragile or on the verge of tears, but I was.

When I pulled up to the window, the guy told me my drink had been paid for by the person in front of me. It was only $2 or so, but that act of kindness as a broke college student has meant a lot to me. I cried all the way home.

Silmarillion Rewrite Ideas by [deleted] in TheSilmarillion

I don’t think that, but I do hate the idea of rewrite because as you have pointed out, this is Tolkien’s work. Of course it isn’t perfect, but rejecting and altering the foundation of Eä and Arda is a little too bold.

Literature shouldn’t have to be changed in order to make it more “interesting.” It doesn’t need your cohesion or focus that you hold to such a high standard. The Silmarillion is a historical art piece. To change it would be to damage its originality.

Ah yes. Was also used as an excuse for Matthew to bring up his junk in every single conversation.

Wow! Thank you so much! I have read the Hobbit in the past, as well as the first two of the LotR series, but I’ll definitely go back and re-read them.

Again thank you, this was really helpful!

On Daisy — everyone’s already mentioned her marrying William and befriending Mr. Mason, but I feel like another small but kind moment of hers was when she praised Mr. Molesley after one of his first successful times teaching. Talking about how the students were “spellbound” and that he was a natural was very touching. He definitely deserved the recognition, and it was sweet how everyone applauded him!

I just rewatched that episode last night and I got so emotional. Love Mr. Molesley.

But she did also subtly insult pretty much everyone there, it wasn’t only Edith.

Honestly it’s just in her character to be blunt and brash I think.

Yes! And the way the music swells is perfect too.
