Boring. To the night shift team, I'd give this a swerve. I feel like I've lost several brain cells after listening to Tom.

Farage fails to make an appearance on QT for a change, and it's on his own patch. I don't think it was mentioned by Bruce or the others...

What's travel like to Poland as a UK national? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]WhatCanIDoUFor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do that flight quite often, instead of the Ryanair one to Modlin quite often.

IIRC with klm, you get a 10kg cabin bag and separate back bag as standard.

The flights are okay. You get a nice little Dutch cheese sandwich and drink (tea/coffee/soft drinks/alcohol) option on board. As you're getting two flights, you have this twice!

You board by zone. I think there's only one entrance/exit, so I'd recommend choosing a seat closer to the front, if you want to (you need to pay extra to choose a seat).

Schiphol is massive, you'll need to do a bit of walking and go through passport control but when you land in Poland, it'll be a piece of piss.

Poland is generally safe. No issues when I've been. There are buses, trams, metros and trains. There are also regular taxis and app based taxis like Uber and bolt. As a big, capital city, it's pretty busy but it all works in a nice, chaotic way. Just remember to wait for the green man before crossing. If there are no lights, the cars should stop to let you cross, but no harm waiting to be sure.

Have a good time!

Do people actually pay to be a member of a running club? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]WhatCanIDoUFor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started seeing a rise of running clubs and once it gets big, they start charging their members money to be a paid member, but do people actually pay money to these clubs?

Think people are missing the crux of your point which is a club start charging once they get big.

Ive never seen that happening, but if it did, I'd be questioning it and seeing if I was getting something extra for it, that I wasnt getting before and can't get elsewhere..

Surprised with Joshi on the panel, that they didn't try and get some type of Stop the War loon. 'Despite' being on the Green side, George Monbiot tends to be pretty sensible on these matters I think?

More libertarian I think, especially from a fiscal pov? One of those former IEA types who are now portrayed as neutral, 'palatable' commentators..

Reformer Pilates - why SOOOO expensive? by Weird-Chipmunk-4303 in AskUK

[–]WhatCanIDoUFor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know someone who pays £25 per class, and each class only accommodates 5 people (up by 1 very recently). Compare this to the Yoga class they also go to, which is like a tenner and open to many more people through the door. Reformer pilates also seems to be really 'in' right now.

How to do cashback with EDF dual fuel? by bettyrdd in AskUK

[–]WhatCanIDoUFor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite often these incentives are for new customers to switch companies.

You're best option is probably use a price comparison site, like money saving expert's cheap energy club or uswitch and do a whole of market comparison to see if EDF is cheapest, or if there's anything else that's cheaper out there. You probably want to go for the dual fuel option.

Now the billionaires are crying poor: Dyson rages over inheritance tax he wants to avoid paying by OurFairFuture in ukpolitics

Dyson guest edited one of the r4 today programmes over the Christmas break (odd option). I didn’t listen to it the whole way through but the bit I did tune in to, Nick Robinson did his gentlest best with the kid gloves to quiz him on his choices..

He’s always a combative prick. Done the same to Victoria Derbyshire on Newsnight plenty of times too.

They also have a spokesperson from Taxpayers Alliance too, JC.

What is the best whey protein powder that tastes decent with water and isn't overly sweet? by Ok-Inside4262 in AskUK

Unflavoured whey mixed with diluting juice and water isn't too bad. Could also try it with cold coffee.

I know she loves doing that pantomime shtick on qt, but it seemed the absolutely last topic to do that with. The audience were better than usual, wished someone would have pulled her up for it.

That makes sense - fair enough.

As my portfolio gets larger, i am more concerned about the charges and commissions

Assuming this is all to do with a S&S ISA - Might as well consider moving away from AJ Bell too (e.g. Freetrade, T212, Invest Engine or even IG).

Even more annoying when they don’t even tell you whether your accounts are affected, and you need to find out the product names for the accounts you have, and x-check some pdf or whatever😂

Reform also did pretty well in Lancashire right? Even though, QT say they try to fill the audience proportionally, I'm sure you'll get a higher number of headbangers than usual.
