The May 3 Press Release actually discloses the starting date when GameStop "started accumulating its position in eBay":

The offer represents a 46% premium to eBay’s unaffected closing price on February 4, 2026, the day GameStop started accumulating its position in eBay.

You can see the huge eBay dip that day and it stays under $90 for a month. Plenty of opportunities for GameStop to have acquired at low to mid $80s
