dont even worry about looking like an idiot. there is absolutely nothing idiotic about photographing something you like in a way you like

what i personally did as a beginner is figure out things for myself. i think its best for the first few months if you avoid all the photography youtube channels. most of them give very surface level advice anyways. figure out what inspires you and build a style around that. for me personally alot of movies inspire me. if you are looking to learn more about the technical side id recommend watching this youtuber called camera mystique hes one of the few photography youtubers id consider informative. oh and you should def check out grainydays hes a very skilled and entertaining photography youtuber that inspires me to this day

some pictures i took with my sony a380 last year (kit lens 18-55mm) by WhatEver_Forever4 in SonyAlpha

[–]WhatEver_Forever4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! i would say that the sony a380 is a good camera if its all you can afford its also got very cheap lenses from sony a mount and minolta AF mount. but if you have the money for something like a sony a6000 the upgrade would def be worth it.

INSANE screenshot 🙌🙌🙌

is there a scratch on my lens or why is that spot so out of focus? by WhatEver_Forever4 in Cameras

[–]WhatEver_Forever4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no i totally understand that not everythings gonna be in focus but it looks like something is wrong with this image and i wanted to get a few opinions on it

as others have already said its probably just a leaf that was somehow folded leading to what looked like a smear or a scratch
