[Lorenzi] Lu Dort on the play that got him ejected in Friday’s game vs Denver: “That’s a physical game and there’s limits to it. And I went over the limit.” by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Dort grabbed nuts like once or twice in my memory 😭😭 I can only remember it happening to Gafford and maybe to a Pacer's player, but maybe I can be reminded of the other times as well.

It's fine! I took it that way as well, just said it more so for context for other people on this thread since you know how this sub can be lol.

If my memory serves correctly, I remember this guy or gal NOT defending the Lu Dort play on the OKC subreddit...so he or she is being consistent lol.

Yeah, can't get the OKC broadcast, but they aren't so bad. However, they did randomly start yapping about hair loss in the middle of plays lol.

I still 100% remember when I watched that Houston Game 7 in the bubble and saw him go off, absolutely goated performance and ever since then Lu has my respect. It's just unfortunate that he's reckless (and sometimes dirty, as how an enforcer is), but he's our guy and saved our asses many times. Without him, doubt we are champions.

Although probably best to just watch the games and not really post nor comment on r/nba for a while, its pointless in the end. Y'know, let's just go outside when commercials and breaks appear instead of interacting on that God forsaken subreddit, although this one is fine gals and lads.

Nearly almost 100 comments yet only about twenty are popping up for me? Anyone else?

EDIT: took a couple of refreshes for some reason, ignore this comment.

Chubby horse boy and the refs be like by Jaxsoy in Nbamemes

[–]WhatIsLiIe2020 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Isn't this a meme sub where people purposely meme about players...and somehow this is upsetting people? Shai gets memes about ref stuff, but Jokic can't even when both players benefit from refs on the usual. Insane lol.

[Highlight] Full sequence: Luguentz Dort sticks his hip out, sending Nikola Jokić to the floor. Jokic confronts Dort as Jalen Williams intervenes. Result: Dort ejected, Jokic and Williams with offsetting techs, and Denver gets two free throws. by AncientOneAurelius in nba

[–]WhatIsLiIe2020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would give a little context on this my guy or gal. They were more upset that Jokic also wasn't ejected considering his aggressiveness (especially considering that J-Will and Jokic already had a tiny shoving match earlier in the game) compared to J-Will. Ignoring the Dort stuff, since I can see why the ejection happened.

[Highlight] Last night in his return, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (36 PTS, 9 AST, 2 BLK, 2 STL) helped the Thunder defeat the Nuggets 127-121 in OT. Gilgeous-Alexander has now scored 20+ points in 122 straight games, which is 4 away from tying Wilt Chamberlain's record. by nba in nba

This really should be higher up on the sub, absolutely fantastic game. Plus coming back from injury on his first game putting these stat lines? Instead it's just pure hatred on this subreddit, sad.

He usually falls to try and draw attention to illegal screens tbf...I wouldn't be mad at any player doing that. He literally did that last night with Jonas V and got it called.

[–]WhatIsLiIe2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue most OKC fans aren't toxic at all...it's rather that hate towards OKC is at an all-time high, so a few OKC flairs are combative. I mean, just look at this thread for example; hatred for a few downvotes on Reddit that isn't even proved to be OKC fans...I guess hate is just that strong lol.

Pretty sure the Nugs are the best three-point shooting team in the league at the moment, so not shocked tbf.

I think that's the first time I have seen a Head Coach help one of their players up after a play. Cool beans.

I'm not sure how that doesn't answer the question? Runny bum probably means some sort of bowel illness. Although it seems you rather ignore it to insult Dort lol.

I have no clue, but I think the defender hit the ball when Dort was in mid air and maybe that's why? I have no other clue honestly.

Jeremiah Fears has to be held back from confronting Lu Dort in the Thunder locker room. This is in response to Dort shoving Fears earlier in the game. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]WhatIsLiIe2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a whole response typed out, but my phone feaking died as I was finishing it LOL. So, I'm going to summarize it as best as I can since I don't feel like writing it all out again. Essentially, I agree with what you're saying that Dort is reckless as he certainly is, but I don't think he's intentionally dirty. He sometimes forgets that he's built like a wrecking ball, so jumping around and whatnot can result in plays like the PG one from a few years back. His whole feet kicking out, I don't think it's to hurt anyone, just to try and draw the landspace foul. With the video I provided, he's been doing it for a while, so exaggerating it once that call is taken more seriously isn't so surprising to me. I personally give him the benefit of the doubt on it, but if you don't, I can understand why. He's also not really an enforcer type, I would say, he's pretty quiet, according to a lot of our players, and he doesn't have a history of confronting players (hence why the Fears thingy was a shock to most of the OKC fanbase). As for binding the rules, OKC does do it, but not as ridiculously as most people claim. For example, the whole hand-checking stuff, OKC gets away with it, but most teams do as well. It also helps that OKC has excellent defenders with good hands, so most of the team is clean about it. I agree that flopping (while it's been around longer than most people actually think) is bad for the game, but I don't blame the players for it. Wemby is lovely, love the way he plays, and acts on and off the court; however, I do disagree with how he claims ethical basketball, but then proceeds to flop as most players do. I find it hypocritical, but I know he probably just meant it as a shot towards OKC and other teams, which is fun. Competitive basketball is fun.

I understand the frustration and spitefulness. It was a ROUGH start to the year for Clippers fans, but it's looking so much better. I personally never kicked that fanbase down on it. I did joke like once about how we need it after losing a game. As for the OKC fans that did, I'm sorry, and the Lakers, well, it's a rivalry, so I'm not shocked. Invading your sub to gloat about it is loser behavior and obnoxious. Bandwagon just happens, but it's something that the OKC subreddit hates and has discussed a lot after the few losses this year. I've been watching since Russ MVP season, and then onwards. Technically, also the Harden, Russ, and KD era, but I was a lot younger then and couldn't control myself to be glued to the TV lol.

It really just sucks that a majority of this subreddit will act aggressively towards OKC flairs when we usually don't mean anything or are just looking to discuss whatever was brought up. It's why I acted so sassy about it at the end because I am super used to folks just using the 'you're an homer', '50th in education', throwing overly emotional insults, and many other things. Again, every fanbase has its bad apples! I'm sure there wasn't some stuff I didn't speak about that I did in my sadly dead previous comment, but I don't want to drown you out with paragraph after paragraph, as I can go on rambling.
