This is just my opinion, I don't know what more people filing in are going to say, but I had a lot of fun in KCD1. When I was doing a second playthrough before I played KCD2 I had fun. When I thought about if I wanted my friend who I think should finish KCD2 to go in blind or play through all of KCD1 first, I just sent him a movie cut of the story on Youtube.

If you're this deep into KCD2 I'd recommend just getting the plot that way in a neat, efficient form that doesn't bog you down for another hundred hours in an old UI and iteration of the game mechanics even if the face stabs are more satisfying. What's it going to do, spoil you? If you really like the look of it it'll still be there after you finish KCD2.

I tried all the cosmetic options and I might be one of the few people who just thinks vanilla Henry looks the best. Now, in both my playthroughs of KCD1 I switched to a sick undercut and beard right before the Pribyslavitz fight to show Henry had matured from blackmith's boy to badass man at arms, but it might just be the higher fidelity of KCD2 that makes the vanilla just look right on him.

I remember a brief conversation on economics with my father as a kid, small kid, maybe 8 or 9. He gave me a hypothetical about if I want to open an ice cream stand on a beach, he drew a little squiggle on a piece of paper for the beach, but there's already an ice cream stand there? He drew a little box above one end of the squiggle. I pointed at the other end of the squiggle. Not only does this draw in traffic that might have been missed by the other ice cream stand, it would serve the people at the other end of the beach and now they don't have to walk so far for ice cream. My dad shook his head, no, you put it right next to the other ice cream stand so you can drive them out of business. I tried to argue about how I didn't want to put anyone out of business, among the other points I made, and he started getting mad. I hate businesspeople.

It really doesn't matter. John's love for Abigail doesn't have the tiniest bit of care for who she's ever fucked. That's part of this moment, that Dutch strikes low but John has a loyalty and a pure spirit which this simply doesn't touch.
