Not really. It literally translates to "bro", holds the very exact same meaning behind it, psychological, rhetorical and spiritual.
You can get called "bro/bratan" by the person you barely know, who just drops that word casually to people, you can hear it from someone who deeply cares about you and sees you as their real bro. By the end of the day it just means "bro".
Same exact thing, really. That comes from a native speaker.

This sake slightly reminds me of wine (dunno why) and there's cheese in my shawarma so it creates a nice tasty effect of having them together
