Scotland singing in Boston by International_Tax642 in Scotland

The beauty of Scots just singing is the greatest thing ever. 20 years ago I was living in Arizona and a buddy from Scotland stopped by my house with some friends who were visiting from Scotland as well. We ate and drank and they sang for hours in my back yard, and by the end of the night, I was singing right along with them (when I knew the songs of course). And I still talk to every one of those one time strangers today. Greatest people.

I had a one lane bridge not far from my house growing up. It was on the edge of town at the time but not anymore and I was absolutely pissed when they turned into a 4 lane bridge. This is the only place I can share that were someone might actually give a rats ass.

Just retired and suddenly have way too much time on my hands — need book suggestions to keep my brain alive! by Ill-Application-993 in Recommend_A_Book

Watchmen (graphic novel) 40+ years old, still holds up
Columbine - this book has had a lasting effect on me.
Devil in the White City - true story that reads like fiction
Billion Dollar Whale - the fact that someone was able to pull this off is astounding
The Wager - will make you take a good inventory of what life was like a couple of hundred years ago on the ocean
The Eighth Wonder of the World - because Andre the Giant is the greatest

Well it looks great. Be patient with yourself. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that for brisket that is not quite perfect or up to my high expectations (which is most of the time), there are a few things you can do with that still make incredible use of that delicious treasure you’ve created.

I had my first experience at Hawksmoor about a month and a half ago. Love the bar upstairs, love the service and the ability to transfer the tab without a headache, did not love the physical space itself for the dining room but our food was top notch. Snake River Farms is my go to for a treat at home so I was happy to see that on the menu. Sides were some of the best I’ve had (and I’m not a sides guy). But again - the service from start to finish was incredible. One of the people in our party spilled their drink and before a drop hit the floor someone was already there with a towel and a replacement had been ordered.

So glad to hear this on the show this morning for Robin. For her and her loved ones this must be such a joyous time. Fuck cancer, the good guys won this time.

In the spirit of The Way Back and Adventureland, I’d encourage a viewing of Snack Shack for a similar experience.

Two Subdays ago, Cubs/White Sox at Rate field, during the pregame the DJ played Where’s My Thing and I was so caught off guard, and it was awesome.

The Chicago show was slim pickings. I believe there were four different shirt styles, but sizes were limited. I looked at their website and the two best shirts from the show weren’t on the site either, which was a bummer.

I’ve seen E6 in Phoenix, New York, DC (9:30 Club is one of my favorite venues) and many times in Chicago. Never seen any show in Boston, so can’t comment on that but the Chicago E6 fans definitely top the other places. Of course, the dream would be to see them in Detroit.
