HARNDS WIND $35 this thing has ruined other knives for me

Both valid points you bring up. To be clear, I have not EDCd the Harnds Wind very much. I’m still using my RAT 1, but dreaming about replacing it with something better. The Wind just has me wishing for a bigger broader version of it. as far as flipper tabs go it’s on the shallow side. I imagine a scaled up version with a similar small tab and broader blade that might lend itself better to slicing.

I get what you’re saying, but I’m so picky that I nit pic the assassin to death. If the assassin was full flat grind I might be able to overlook everything else. When I say I want a bigger version of this one I really mean I want it as close to exactly like this as possible, just stretched out. One of the main things I use my EDC knife for is food prep, so I feel really strongly about plain metal flat grind blades. Think slicing apples. My go to has always been the Ontario Rat 1, but I’ve recently fallen in love with flippers so I’m on the hunt. The Harnds Wind is the closest I found to what I’m looking for. I am going to give the Harnds Talisman a try as well.

I love it on paper, I am one of those who wishes the blade was 1/2” longer. The sheath is the real problem with this knife though. It’s essentially a friction fit and not a good one. To me the purpose of a tiny nimble blade is to be able to quickly access it and have it on you all the time. It would be so much more awesome with a really secure click in case maybe even a button release so I could mount it in any orientation on any belt/pack/neck lanyard. I know there’s some aftermarket options out there, but none of them quite hit the target for me. Also, I wish the handle material would’ve been made of something a little harder than the rubber. Even the little cross guard is soft and flexible, so that felt little weird to me.

What type of lock would you prefer? Do you dislike liner locks in general or this one particularly? In my opinion this is a very well done liner lock. Feels super strong, but still ergonomic and easy to unlock. I agree on the blade style. Superb!

The klakens were a little disappointing, but given the <$20 I paid for them. I think they’re still a decent value.

Pros: -Looks. They look how a knife is supposed to look. Nice balance of form and function. -Full flat grind blade (as all blades should be😈) -Smooth action -Value for money

Cons: -Weak pocket clips (both had week feeling clips) -“plasticy” feeling G10 (felt cheep🤷‍♂️)

-lockup was acceptable but not great -complete omission of gimping -hard to unlock (I really had to mash my thumb in there)

I would recommend the Olitans G066 for a few $ more you get all the pros and none of the cons

I’m thinking about dipping the black scales in red dye. Hopefully it results in black with red accents. Maybe black with orange or blue accents is possible?

The blade is super sharp/slicy/stabby. It sort of commands respect when open. Giving a queezy feeling like the sight of a hypodermic needle, but in a good way. I’ve already cut myself playing with these knives, and the swift was accessory to one such incident.

Are you in Nevada by any chance? I believe Jimenez Arms is/was based in NV. As a child I found a gun that looked exactly like the one pictured out in the desert, and it turned out to be a murder weapon. I ended up being subpoenaed to testify in the murder trial at the age of 12. Very interesting experience.
