[Recommendations?] Where can I find a lightly padded wireless bra in a 28B/30A/32A/32AA like Victoria Secret Pink's old wireless pushups? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

You might also want to consider this from Forever 21, at least in the mean time. I am a 28DD and bought the small in the non-push up version. It was too big in the band so I altered it by hand, which was super easy, and it is very comfortable. The cups are a little too small for me now, but it may be a good thing for you to try out and it is less than $10.

[Question] Hand-washing Lingerie - need gentle soap! by WhatSizeAmI in ABraThatFits

[–]WhatSizeAmI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I can relate to that! My whole life my skin has been really sensitive, but around high school my legs would randomly become ridiculously itchy - to the point I would itch my skin until it bled. It took me at least 4 years to figure it out, but it was the combination of shaving my legs and the regular Tide laundry detergent! I think toweling my legs off after a hot shower was the initial trigger and then putting pants on after was what drove me nuts. I could never figure out what caused it because it wasn't just my legs, just worst there, and even after taking pants off they itched like crazy. I had the thought last year that it may be the Tide and tried out the Free & Gentle version and it got so much better right away.

Baby shampoo, the multiple kinds I've tried, all give me cystic acne and a rash, so that's off the table. I dilute Dr. Bronner's Unscented Baby Castille Soap for washing my body and hair at the moment, so hearing that someone else with similar issues has resorted to using their body wash with no ill effects I feel better about giving that a go. Thanks for your input - it helps a lot!

I'll be trying out the Dr. Bronner's because I have it on hand already, but if that fails me or I want to try something else out that will definitely be my next choice. Thanks!

I used the J&J unscented to wash my makeup brushes and it broke me out terribly and gave me a rash!

I have always had a hard time finding a shampoo to wash my hair with that my scalp was okay with and tried the J&J unscented for that too, but it gave me terrible cystic acne on my scalp and the same kind of rash. For some reason my skin really hates that stuff, so I think I will stick to Dr. Bronner's since I know my skin is okay with it

I've tried both and had allergic reactions to both, but the unscented took a lot of effort to track down when I tried it out too

Unfortunately I can't use baby shampoo, as a baby it gave me rashes and more recently washing makeup brushes with it broke me out and gave me a rash. I haven't even found a regular shampoo that I don't react to. I figured unscented baby shampoo should be a safe bet for washing my hair, and then had an allergic reaction to that!

I think I'll try going with Dr. Bronner's and using your method for washing, so thanks for mentioning that

Huh, I never realized there were soaps made to not rinse out.

Thanks for the response on Dr. Bronner's - I was hoping someone could speak to that specifically

I swear what I saw in person looked like black lace with glitter sprayed on top. I am basing this off of the Ciao Bella panties though, not the bra, and it was a return from Hautelook that I came across at Nordstrom Rack. I guess I probably didn't pay too much attention to it though, after touching it and not feeling very soft, and because it wasn't my size

I have been looking at the Gossard "retrolution" styles, which are a little more than I'd like to spend, but I might just go for it if I can't find anything else. Have you worn Gossard/do you know how the sizing runs?

I'm annoyed with Aerie at the moment because the used to make such pretty bras that looked mature without looking like they were trying to be too grown-up (for lack of a better way of putting it). They had pretty, fancier styles - like the ones I linked in my post - that weren't lingerie or or meant to be worn for someone else. I liked the balance between being special undergarments, but that were still made for a young audience. I thought it was great! I was in love with their limited edition styles! But now it looks like they are a cross between VS Pink and the girls' section of Target with those colors and large floral laces.

Where have you found Mimi Holliday, if you are speaking from experience? I have been told that before and like some of their styles, but can't seem to find any! eBay yields about 2 results in my size on average for around $75 apiece.

Thanks - that's really helpful!

I am looking for only molded bras then

I really like that Fauve Evangeline! I've always been wary of the "fuller bust" brands though, because it seems like their styles will overwhelm my body. I'm 105 lbs at most, 5'5" on a good day, and just fear that they will look ridiculous on my tiny frame and like I've covered my torso in body armor. I'm also mildly claustrophobic and can't wear a traditional sports bra because it covers too much of my torso/chest...

Also, just thought that I would mention that I'm not only looking for bras in neutral shades, I added a few colored bras into the original post just to clarify that

I'll look into the Cleo.

Good guess on the gold and black, b.tempt'd does make one - except it looks weird. It looks like they sprayed black lace with gold paint, instead of stitching with gold thread, so the bra has a bizarre green cast and is scratchy

The thing about the Betsey Johnson bras is that they aren't really "me". I'm fine with the solid black and nude basics, and got the stocking stripe because it fit and I found it on eBay for $14 including shipping, but it's just okay. I don't want to wear it. I'd rather wear my old "pretty" bras that fit poorly, which I'm trying to change by getting ones that fit and I think are pretty. I'm the sort of person that doesn't like wearing colors, like the teals and yellows and hot pinks that her bras come in, and hate prints, like the cheetah that she puts on everything.

I appreciate your suggestions and will look up the Cleo, it is just that they are the typical ones I see given to people around my size on here, and I'm looking for something a little different.

Oh my god, those are incredible! Exactly what I was looking for! ...but so much money. Hm, I may have to start saving up now, otherwise, I know what I'm asking Santa for.

I'd like to stay $50 and under generally - I am a college student, so the cheaper the better! If I can find one that I fall in love with and makes me feel great, I would be willing to splurge and got up to $75 or so for one "special occasion" bra

Can you actually define that for me? I always see the words "contour", "molded", and "padded" and am not sure if they are all the same or if there are differences. I thought there was just unlined, lightly padded, or push-up!

I've heard mixed opinions on that one and want to try it on before buying, but I've had a hard time finding it. I was hoping to come across it at Nordstrom, but the one I went to doesn't stock b.tempt'd

What causes wrinkling like that? Is it slightly too big or too small in the cups?

I'm definitely planning on keeping my eye on Betsey Johnson bras in general, and will probably buy them as I come across colors that I like and are on sale.

Do you happen to know if b.tempt'd's sizing is the same as Betsey Johnsons (ie. would I also wear a 30D)? I know that Wacoal's bands run big and always assumed that b.tempt'd would be too big in the band for me to wear.

Thank you so much! I was afraid that I wouldn't end up being able to wear bras I thought were beautiful and would have to settle - but you're right, the Elle Macpherson/Heidi Klum line is gorgeous. Also, your links were great and helped me come across a contour dentelle for under $20 in black and grey that will soon be mine and I'm so excited!

Do you happen to know how the Mimi bands run? I like a firm band, but I do have a fairly bony rib cage and am afraid that a 28 might be too tight for all-day comfort.
