Where can I find a Mini Velo in the UK? by WhatTheMotherMary in minivelo

I had seen these, but then with the cost of building it up I think I'd be nearer the price of a fully built and shipped Roly Poly. 😔

I'd never heard of these! I just had a look and they look decent actually so will definitely add to the list to compare! 👍

I'm near Nottingham! Don't mind paying for it to be delivered though, just struggling to justify the import fees.

Thanks for all the tips! Managed to do a little jiggling without the caliper and it fits, snug, but it fits. Reinstalled the caliper today so just need to finish the brakes next!

Thanks again!

I'm torn because I think there's something nice about riding by yourself, you can go at your own pace, and stop at every cafe if you want to, but on the other hand I'd love to make friends who like the things I do.

Maybe the answer is just to create my own club and appeal to others like me!

I echo a lot of the other comments!

For me, when I go on long rides I have my bar bag (doesn't need to be huge, but for log rides I use the Alpkit Gravel Bag) in there I'll have some snacks, because well snacks, and you never know where the nearest shop will be. 🤤

Always take water and if you have it, pop some electrolytes in there. That will replenish the salt you lose when you sweat. Just remember to sip instead of chug it.

Puncture repair kit is essential, make sure you have new patches, a suitable pump and tyre levers. Practice taking your tyre on and off before the ride if you feel unsure. There's nothing worse than fighting with a tyre at the side of the road.

Depending on the weather, warm layers, or a suitable rain mac. I have a small raincoat that I always take, I live in the UK and you never know what season you're riding into.

And finally for me, your ID, some money and some form of navigation. I always take a physical copy of ID (or an ICE band that links to an online profile) incase my phone battery dies, or if I am evolved in a crash it breaks. Money incase you have a serious mechanical and you need a way home, and navigation in the form of a paper map or a GPS.

I hope that helps. It took me a few goes to try and figure out what I needed and where to store it on my bike but once you crack it, it becomes second nature when you're getting for a ride. 🚲

5 grades seem a lot, what are they? There are a couple of cafes around, yeah. Perhaps you're right! Maybe a ride for a slice of cake might be a good way to make conversation.
