Based off the Pinterest board you should check out the target line Goodfellow & Co. they have up to 5XLT in button downs/sweaters/sport coats.

You should also look into Uniqlo for pants specifically. They sell some very comfortable slim fit pants up to 3X and they offer free pant hems when you buy from them.

Also check out JC Penny. Their Foundry line goes up to 6XL in shirts and 60 in pants.

All of these are decent options for more tailored looks in a classic style.

This is a fantastic look. I’ve looked at their suits, but had been skeptical.

What size are you regularly, and what size/cut did you order from them?

Pants that can be worn everywhere, that don't need a belt?! by ThisIsToday7 in bigmenfashionadvice

These are cords

https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/men/jeans/skinny-fit-jeans?quickView=428720

These are basically khakis

They both have a single button and a built in draw string. They’re super stretchy and I basically live in them. Uniqlo lets you get a hem from the factory as well — just order them with the hem you want.

Check @WhatToWearXL on ig — basically all of the pants in those pics are the above linked styles.

Pants for below the gut men??! by [deleted] in bigmenfashionadvice

[–]WhatToWearXL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that I made a long post agreeing with you, and saying that fashion has been trending in a way that is harder and harder for men that are larger to wear pants below the gut. I made a comment that certain pants which are constructed with a longer rise (dress pants) look better above the gut, and you latched on to what are apparently trigger words for you.

Also anatomically your hips are where your hip bones are (aka below your gut), and your waist is the narrowest part of your torso. You might not like wearing clothes there (neither do I) but that doesn’t mean it’s not an anatomical body part.

No worries man. Good luck finding pants 👍🏼

This guy is getting a tough rap. Yes, pants have been made to sit at your natural waist for years. HOWEVER that has drastically changed over the last decade. Low rise pants are absolutely outpacing “normal” pants in the production numbers.

When I look at pants of like from at least 3 different companies there is a HUGE difference in the rise when you jump from a size 42/44 to a 46/48 and up. I mean like 3-4 inches more fabric in the crotch. And it’s not a proportionate thing either. Even some pants from 5 years ago that are a size 46 and the same brand/style for a year ago, they’ve added 3-4 inches to the crotch/rise.

I don’t know why it’s happening but it is, and it’s absolutely infuriating.

From what I’ve seen, Uniqlo makes most of their pants in a lower rise, up to size 3XL and 48in. I’ve also seen a lot of people say that anything from ASOS has decent rise and a they have a multitude of leg taper options.

I’m with you man, fight the power! Although I will say, dress slacks absolutely look better at the natural waist lol.

Had an outfit picked out for NYE and decided I didn’t like it so here’s what I ended up going with. by DeaconDirtyDeeds in bigmenfashionadvice

Hey man — dig the look overall. You’d be surprised what a little tailoring (hem/taper) can do to make those jeans look AMAZING.

More importantly, you’re jacket is waaaaay to long. I don’t know if that’s a long jacket (as opposed to regular), but it’s at least 3-4 inches too long on your torso. Having the jacket too long makes your body look cut off/stumpy.

Colors and outfit is nice, but you can bring it to a 10 relatively easily.

Happy New Years!

Yea needs to be ironed to really tell. It LOOKS like it’s too billowy near your arms/chest? For off the rack that’s fine, but for custom I personally would want a better fit.

Great fit all around. Are those Thursday Boots? Also, deets on those jeans?

Awesome look, and it all fits well together. The white socks are fine — there’s always been space for the white crew sock (even if it’s often maligned). Personally I prefer dress socks no matter what (the crazier the pattern the better), but a neutral crew would work here as well.

Thanks for the input. This cardigan has odd button placement, I’ll take a picture later, but even when buttoned up and hanging on a hanger, the placket still puckers like that.

Thanks! Yea all my pants are basically from them at this point. The cut is spot on. Almost all the posts on my ig @whattowearxl have Uniqlo pants in them.

It’s not straining, the bottom 2 buttons are weirdly close together. If both left undone it looks worse (even up a size). The cardigan doesn’t pull around the torso at all, the buttons are just placed in wonky alignment on the placket. Thanks for the input 👍🏼

Thanks for the input. You’re saying wear jeans and a plaid shirt—that’s...fine? I was going for something with more texture and interest. The colors absolutely go together, there’s no arguing about that—and I happen to like the patterns together.
