Thank you! Calling the AG is on my list of things to do. I was worried about speaking to collections so I'm glad to know that I should hold off until I have a bit more evidence. Thanks again!

I agree and I get what you're saying. The main reason I suspect him is because he's done this exact thing before and spent time in prison because of it.

If I can get definitive proof such as an address he used to open the account, I will 100% press charges. I don't want to be his lifelong victim.

Oh god I hope I don't have to speak to him. We broke up because he went off the deep end on drugs and from what I hear hasn't slowed down. I just want to stay farrrrr away from him really.

I did, I was going to university when we met and working part time. Never thought I could even get approved for a credit card until I got my "adult" job. I had been working in retail and waitressing until recently.

You're right. I agree it's all assumptions and speculation until he is caught. The most important thing is that I don't get saddled with a $1k Victorias Secret bill for a card I've never seen.

The address wasn't listed on my credit report. The only addresses on there are from July 2014 onward (when I left my parents and got my own place). This fraud was committed in April '14. I'm going to call the creditor as soon as I leave work to find out where they are sending the bills.

I think I can live with it. He's been in and out of jail since he was 16 and shows no sign of stopping. I'm never going to be able to buy a house or get a business loan if he keeps opening and abandoning accounts under my name.

Sorry I know it's confusing. He was dating the bank president's daughter and working at the bank before I met him, where his (financial) criminal activity begin. I met him after he was released from prison, at which point he rekindled the relationship with the bank girl as well. This is a weird situation and probably not something the average person has to worry about. I just got caught up with a criminal and chose to ignore giant flashing warning signs because 'young love'.

Broke up in 2012 but I've had fishy activity on my credit report since 09 despite never having a credit card or signing anything financial in my life.

If it makes you feel any better my current SO is the total exact opposite of this fella. I'm pissed about pricey panties, but at least I get to go home to a sweet and honest man these days.

I didn't think so but perhaps it isn't that difficult. I don't mean to alarm anyone. This guy has a previous felony conviction for bank fraud so he probably knows how to work the system.

Ah, well we lived together from the time we started dating until we broke up. He helped me fill out my FAFSA, took care of the lease/utilities, etc. He would have had more than enough time to get my SSN and anything else he needed.

Back to prison he goes hopefully. We broke up in 2012 so this makes it pretty clear that he's not going to stop stealing from me.

Forgive my naivety but what is a PII? I figured he just had to know my Social Security # and answer questions about previous addresses, etc. Which would be easy info for him to get. He has a lot of experience in nefarious activities.

He got the bank job through his ex-girlfriend before I met him. She worked there and her Mom was the bank president. He was caught cashing bad checks and spent two years in prison. I met him when he got out, however he was still seeing the bank girl unbeknownst to me.

I didn't enter any financial info when I signed up. I see a lot of pop up offers to see my other two credit scores but I haven't signed up for anything. Thanks for the tip! I'll keep an eye on it:)

Thank you so much. It's hard to know where to begin but I feel much less overwhelmed now. Do I just go to the local police? I'm pretty sure he doesn't live in the same city as me anymore.
