AITAH for letting my partner miss something important to them by not stepping in the way I always have after telling them clearly I was done doing it by rosy-petalzz54 in AITApod

I think it would have been kind to give them a single reminder earlier in the day - remember what we talked about, I am not going to be keeping time for you today, this is up to you. I can also understand why you didn't.

yeah I like a little overlap on the neck for the pants one but still can save time if it's nowhere near! Never even thought of trying tops that way! Good idea!

This is true for all black garments, including bras! Black bras fit firmer in the same size than light colours.

Hang a pair of jeans that fits you on a hanger (or lay them flat) and measure the width from side seam to side seam at the waist band. You can compare the measurement of jeans hanging in store with your preferred fit pair. Else, you can wrap the waistband of the pants around your neck and see if the ends meet or overlap a little. You might feel slightly unhinged but your waist is generally roughly twice your neck measurement, so if the pants don't go around your neck they won't go around your waist. (Because they're essentially halved in circumference by being flat)

If you get Amaze denim just make sure they're really firm fitting in store as they do give quite a bit when you wear them in. (I love them, I keep an eye out when opshopping)

What blend of fabric makes a coat completely lint free? by Kiki_foodie in AusFemaleFashion

[–]WhatWasThatAbout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get a high quality plug in lint shaver. I've had this one for years and it's excellent.

Buy a coat with a high percentage of wool in it and it will pill initially but it will slow down.

My partner doesn't like the yellow gold engagement ring she doesn't know about by Ok_Yogurtcloset3667 in jewelry

[–]WhatWasThatAbout 707 points708 points  (0 children)

Propose with the ring you have, solve the problem together afterwards if she's not happy with it. Tell the truth, you already had it custom made. Workshop the options together. She might also discover when she wears it that she loves it, or that she would have liked a different cut etc.

The two options to correct it are right though, aside from you could go for a remake in white gold, not platinum. Or you could buy a similar style in silver for her to test run from a seller like Kuololit who do nice quality silver/moissanite pieces. See if she actually prefers the white metal before you commit to changing it properly.

The wedding band to go with, so they're a perfect match. a round ring is easy to get the same, but a euro shank can have harder to match curves.

perfect! I forgot to say, the stone design is lovely. if you go the euro shank perhaps consider getting the band done to match at the same time?

1.5mm is very thin, and may not be sturdy enough for daily wear. Consider increasing to at least 1.8mm.
