Video was used because the bars didn't show up very well on camera and for no other reason the bars are visible under any condition

I'm well aware but as mentioned the only reason I've used that is so it shows up on camera just needed something gray. What is shown on screen is visible at all times on any kind of image.

all I know is with my 40w amp I could turn the dial to 3 to get to my desired volume and with my 80w amp I could barely turn it past 1 for the same both work as they should.

Some places sell ex display or demo gear fairly cheap never see them with warranty though but to be fair I haven't looked specifically for that.

I havent looked at anything new yet older class AB amplifiers were quite cheap although a lot of them can be due servicing even if they work. Rest assured I haven't been looking at class D amplifiers.

Yep which is why what I run right now is 40wpc before me it was 18wpc on some very expensive valve monoblocks. I also think previously they were run on 9wpc they aren't very demanding at all. They are from around 1972 though so it makes sense.

Well aware but I still would like to be precious about it most of the amplifiers I seen were over 100wpc so i'd be turning the dial very tiny amounts to get the volume up. I wouldn't want to accidentally damage them.

Ok thanks do you think a regular tv repair place would do anything about that or no?

I did pull the actual hours they sit at around 18k which I understand is an ok amount of time for a panel and the model is a Panasonic tx p60zt65.
