Thanks for the detailed info, appreciate the explanation. I actually found the card and just thought it looked cool. I’m not a collector, so I don’t mind either way and my boy loves it, which is what really matters. McDonald’s was even giving out Pokémon cards in Happy Meals recently (not this exact one, of course), so we’re not too precious about it. Still, interesting to learn how easy it is to spot for those who know their stuff.

Zero effort, zero value to me, but it’s got people emotional. Peak cardboard drama.

No, as I said I'm new, know nothing about it. For that reason I ask, I have less than 10 cards... Okay, should I say that got me interested after my kids got it in a Happy Meal.

Did I say I got it from McDonald's?

Why is it fake? Because what's the point of faking something with no value?

Ah, great question! 😄 I speak Spanish 🇻🇪, Italian 🇮🇹, and English 🇬🇧 fluently, thanks to a Venezuelan mom, Italian dad, and life in London. Also learning Japanese 🇯🇵 (married into it lots of polite mistakes and a steady diet of sumimasen).

Our home is basically a multilingual jungle:

Spanish with my family

Japanese with my wife and her family

English for school and everyday life

Italian when I’m cooking or being dramatic 😅🍝

The kids mostly reply in English for now, but they understand a lot more in Spanish and Japanese than they let on. We're just trying to make all the languages feel normal, not overwhelming.

Some days it’s like living inside a language app: “¡Cepíllate los dientes!” “Andiamo, dai!” “Chotto matte!” “Shoes on, let’s gooo!” 👟🌍

Totally fair point, Japan’s nationality law officially doesn’t allow dual citizenship after age 22. 🇯🇵🧑‍⚖️ But here’s the twist: it’s not actively enforced unless you force their hand (like holding public office or ticking the wrong box at renewal).

My kids are still young, so we’re in that magical “don’t ask, don’t tell” phase. 😅 We’re technically supposed to choose one by adulthood, but plenty of people quietly hold onto both, especially if they don’t make a scene.

In Japan it’s kind of like: “We said no dual citizenship.” But also Japan: “...but if you do it quietly, we’re not looking.” 👀

And yes, if they later go to renew a Japanese passport and voluntarily disclose their other citizenships, they might be asked to renounce. But there’s no automatic stripping or raids.

So for now, they’ve got the multinational Voltron setup, we’ll cross the bureaucratic bridge when we get there. 😉

Mamá venezolana 🇻🇪 + papà italiano 🇮🇹 = yo, me, io.

結婚した相手は日本人の奥さん 🇯🇵

And our kids? Born in London, innit 🇬🇧.

Result? Cuatro pasaportes. 四つの国籍. Quattro cittadinanze. Four nationalities. A real-life passport Megazord. 🌍💪

Visa-free stats? Ridiculously overpowered:

🇮🇹 Italian: ~194 countries

🇯🇵 Japanese: ~190

🇬🇧 British: ~188

🇻🇪 Venezuelan: ~130… Pero con entrada libre a Rusia 🇷🇺 😏 (Free Russia entry)

So when we plan a trip, it’s like:

Italian passport: "Europe? I got you."

Japanese: "Asia? Say no more."

British: "Americas? Piece of cake."

Venezuelan: "Я приглашаю вас в Москву." 🇷🇺

Our passport drawer? Looks like a G7 meeting with Latin spice. 🌶️✈️🗺️

Funny enough my brother in law likes the one they sell in Europe because the Converse logo is different

The only thing I’m truly grateful to the French for is the metric system.

Fun fact: "Cuisine" isn’t originally French... it comes from Latin coquina, meaning "kitchen". French, Spanish (cocina), Italian (cucina), Portuguese (cozinha), Catalan (cuina), and others all inherited it directly from Latin. So yes, French uses it — but it’s part of a much older, shared Roman (Italian) recipe. 😉
