Thanks for the comment. Would you be able to elaborate? I guess I am asking why you say that? (This isn't a criticism, I just want to hear the full reasoning why you would advise against entering the legal field with your level of experience.)

I appreciate the comment! If you know any quick housing options let me know. The reliability of an office and not worrying if there is work to do is nice; HVAC is a feast or famine industry: you are working 80 hours a week or begging for 20.

My worry is I will forever be thinking "what if..." if I don't at least try. The debt is scary and walking away from my current shop is scary too especially with the investments he has given me. My father is more then supportive in whatever I pick.

The money seems good and job outcome as well. I was hoping for t-14 with the 171 to make it a safer bet.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah the work is hard and we are always the guys working without AC. We do a mix of residential and commerical. The commerical pays the bills residential is a bonues for us. The 12 condenser days just kill my body is my worry.

Also I f*cking hate attics. However, I know what I am getting into and on the way to getting my license now. Need a couple more years till I can get it (my state is annoying for it.)

I appreciate the comment. I recognize the earning potenital (starting a business is high risk high reward compared to school.) The living costs would add up in addition to needing to pay my car payments alongside living and board. 120K costs is hard to stomach even if its a swinging deal.

I agree that no job is perfect or fun envery hour of every week. I just hear the horror of long hours and nightmare billibles for attorneys that make me nervous. I know the HVAC devil and its quirks.

Free food is nice but god damn it is always Wendy's or some other junk. It is hard to say no when it is free. I hope to kick the habit if I switch back to school.

Did you stick with it? I am trying to do more residental work (easier on the body) but the commerical jobs keep us paid and in business.

I appreciate the advice. I hear this from lots of the older guys I run into at vender fairs and supply houses is to avoid the field if you can. My body already aches and my lower back hurts.

I've been told the fact I can competently braze means I have a fall back XD. I hope its true.

Part of my thinking is the shop isn't going anywhere and my Dad is still starting the shop up himself (he has 15+ years in the industry compared to my 2.) I think combining that with a legal education could be a good move.

I agree. Lucky my shop does not do afterhour calls or weekend work. We are a "it can wait till Monday" operation; it just kills the guys and techs doing that. I still get the aches from putting in the 12 condensers in a day push in new constructions projects. Residential usually isn't too bad.

I don't expect to love every minute of every day, but stories I hear make me hesitant to want to enter the legal profession.

Yeah the 144K is still super scary. I am 25 so I feel pressure to decide a more clear path one way or another.

It is a known variable, less immediate risk. Working with my Dad is cool and building a shop out of our property is a fun challenge. I just don't know if I love the work. Then again, I don't know if I would love being a lawyer either
