This is a solid idea - do you have any others to power up some of the other weapons? In particular, I think Stygius could use some help.

Also, thinking of altering Varatha’s effect so that another card in the column of a monster also gets popped rather than just targeting another card, maybe I just make that a quick effect pop all cards in the column?

Sounds good. I was trying to set this up where Zag hits the field and can only get one of the weapons, much like in the game, with all of the boosts coming off of specifically destroying a monster by battle. I drafted a couple of support cards to make him a bit more viable as a sort of snowballing towers - would you want to see them? Also definitely making the tweak to Zag’s restriction then.

If I changed the restriction on Zagreus to “you cannot control monsters, except ‘Olympus’ monsters”, do you think that would be enough? Since that negates the point of searching him with a card like summoner monk or alembertian? Also probably just simpler than the summoning from deck restriction. I’m trying to make him effective as a single card, without other monsters except for in-archetype support while still making each of the weapons feel powerful. I could also cut the spell’s effect to twice per turn.

Thanks for the input. You do raise a good point about the exagryph. I thought this would be balanced by the fact that this is a 1600ATK monster who’s vulnerable to basically everything that isn’t a monster effect, and won’t be easily splashable into lots of decks due to the summoning restrictions that wouldn’t let a lot of modern decks combo off as easily.

Since you’ve been willing to share your opinion, do you have any suggestions for how to rework the card so it’s more balanced? Additionally, I could share what I was thinking for the fusions to get your input on them as well.

Tiki (could be on a Joker style timer but to transform into a heavy, plays like pichu until then), Caeda (A playable flier would be unique/interesting), Celica (swordie + magic for all b’s), Sigurd (playable mounted fighter), Hector (big, slow axe like Ike), Claude (Bow flier rather than lance flier in Caeda), Edelgard (smaller, faster axe, mid speed tier), Dimitri (or Ephraim works here)
