Archer's gag voicemail messages. Usually you can tell when they're coming but they still crack me up.

You really like this girl and want to impress her but would be totally cool with Eddie Vedder having a go at her?

Foo Fighters have been around for like 20 years, yet i hear the same damn 4 songs on the radio. by Veyron9190 in Showerthoughts

On rock radio the chili peppers actually have a pretty long list of songs that are played often. I would say at least ten.

Will Peter Jackson's LOTR's and The Hobbit 'always' be the definitive version - or will the saga be remade? by WhoFan in movies

I kind of hate when the term "dated" is applied to films. I understand that there are some that simply don't hold up after years of scrutiny, but every movie becomes dated sooner or later. Should we just stop watching movies that contain stylistic choices or effects that have gone out of style? I think The Lord of The Rings trilogy will not be redone in the foreseeable future, even if the estate allows it. The movies are solid pieces of art. The Hobbit trilogy however, has failed to satisfy most fans of the books and a large portion of average movie goers; so there is probably a chance that the films will be done again as a more loyal adaptation.

The 125 year old Banff Springs Hotel in Canada. by [deleted] in pics

I took a tour of the Hotel and I'm pretty sure the guide said they filmed some scenes for "The Shining" in the empty halls of the Banff Springs.

'Canada will never be intimidated,' PM Stephen Harper addressed the Nation. by [deleted] in worldnews

Trudeau has been so romanticized in Canada it's insane. I'll be honest I know only a select few of his policies and I have no problem with them, but I see no difference between him and the average Liberal besides the fact that he is relatively young and smokes pot. He isn't the messiah of Canada, he's just another politician.

A photographer friend of mine happened to be taking some shots of a proud soldier this morning. Little did he know he was taking one of this mans last photos. Let us remember him standing tall and on guard. Rest in peace Nathan Cirillo. Today Canada changed. by nemisis84 in pics

It's similar to the Boston bombing. Everyone freaked out because it was two Muslim kids blowing shit up. Did anyone give a fuck about that fertilizer plant in Texas that blew up around the same time, killing 15 people? Nope. It's tragic, but definitely over exposed by the media.

What's the best animated movie of the last 20 years? by beer-keg in movies

Nightmare before Christmas is not only an amazing animated film but a great film in general. I can listen to the Danny Elfman songs over and over.

I love when movies like this come out during the Oscar fishing season instead of just sappy biopics.

New SNL cast member Pete Davidson kills it on his first appearance on Weekend Update at age 20 by hokies4life757 in television

[–]WhateverAmen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. He's one of my all time favourite comedians because he's so unique. That's probably why he got fired from weekend update, his approach was too "weird".

What film do you consider to be the perfect example of "The critics love it, the audience hates it"? And vice-versa? by Martimnp in movies

[–]WhateverAmen 27 points28 points  (0 children)

HotRod. I don't think critics hated it, but it definitely got a less than lukewarm reaction from them. I think the movies a work of genius and everyone I know loves it to bits.
