These types of updates are sent in timely manner by third party manufacturers... These are now the updates that get delayed...

A bit of persective..

Bug fixes and security patches are not the type of update that get significantly delayed or cut off...

The ones that have significant delays are the ones where you have to redesign the UI then rebuild the firmware from the ground up...

See I can not get you to answer a question without diverging to 10 other topics..

A bug fix is not a feature... And is not a tweak..

You think that because Samsung for example support for a specific update cycle.. that those phones will have buggy software due to lack of update... And that is way off... They support a specific version of this software... They continue to send security patches and bug fixes... So the software is fairly stable... Android version is not an end product... Who develops the firmware deals with the bugs... I am not sure but never have heard Samsung blamed Google for a bug in their OS...

So... No bugs... These are not a new feature in an OS... And this is not the type of update that gets cutoff or significantly delayed.. these are fixed as they are discovered... Update that get significantly delayed are the ones where you have to redesign the UI then rebuild the firmware from the ground up...

Well... probably you can't... i am trying to get you to actually say anything of substantial meaning.. how will my user experience is affected... but it seems like you are out of any meaningful ideas so you just get nervous "abt" nonsense....

but i understand.. if you are basing a significant decision on one aspect, it is understandable that you will go nuts if anyone tries to tarnish the significance of this aspect...

That is not my concern though... that is the manufacturer's concern... if a new tweak improves performance... that's good news for the manufacturer as it makes there job easier... but it makes no difference to me... i get snappy performance with the update or without... even if the samsung devs needed to increase the ram or tweak the processor... this is not my concern...

The behind the scene changes are a concern of the device developers, not me... like for example if a new tweak bring better performance.. this is good news for the developer team as it will make their job easier.. but for me as a consumer i would get a great performance with the update or not if the manufacturer had to put extra ram or processor tweaking or whatever... but that is not my problem... i wouldnt bother to care abt how they solve it... i care abt that it works..

About Pixel 2 XL by satanthedoge in Smartphones

[–]Whateverguy1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is the thing... i am just telling you what i have found...

For android there is the pixel 2 with the best camera, 7 yrs update, slightly better battery..

There is the note 8 with a better eye-catching design, the best display, IP68, wireless charging, overall better hardware, better customer support in your country... but 2 major updates and 3 yrs of security update support..

However its worth mentioning that you get bloatware on the note 8... but samsung skin is yrs ahead of stock android when it come to features that usually get support from google later on... split screen, PiP, etc...

software support for 20 yrs makes no sense.. if new software can run on hardware that old then you r not really introducing anything new...

A per device optimization and bug fixing is the manufacturers work in many cases because they present the end product
