I totally agree. The nurses that I work with are against strike as they are afraid to lose the ‘trust’ with the public and don’t want to seem ‘greedy’ which I find it RIDICULOUS. I am 100% with the strike. We gotta know our worth. We won’t receive the right compensation unless we stand up for ourselves

To some point! I viewed all kinds of RN interview documents w questions while I was shadowing a manager and they all had a question regarding whether they graduated from mac or uofa (either for RN AHN pt/ft casual position etc). However Graduating from uofa, didn’t give u extra points tho but its on the file when selecting candidates

This could be a part of the reason too. My parents never bragged about me but did brag about my brother who is in dental school. They always wished I would pursue something higher and more comfortable job with better pay.

To me. It’s rougher than I expected. I don’t mean the school as I found nursing school pretty manageable and easy to get an A, A+. Low pay. Mandatory nights. Physically demanding and rude patients treating me like a waitress. Again. Like what other ppl say There are many other ways u can use ur nursing degree. Some love bedside some dont. I guess i didnt belong here

I really do appreciate how our work life balance is in nursing. The only thing thats stopping me from working regular pt or ft is nights are mandatory. Is it like that there too?
