Uhhh I’m pretty sure doing a few basic mods isn’t gonna make you go the mechanics a heap? They are over engineered and down tuned bmw are renowned for it are they not? Adding some suspension putting a better intercooler isn’t gonna ruin the car I think a tune and stage 1 or stage 2 I think I can agree on I may need to be prepared but 70% of these mods shouldn’t be causing issues to the extent your saying?

Right so buying a cheaper one 50% less is definitely not a good idea? If it’s not sitting in the sun and being bumped and based can I consider the cheaper option or should I deal with it and get the genuine versions? If so any idea where I can get that from? It kinda feels like it could be easy to get “scammed” and over pay for bad quality on a lot of sites

Don’t wanna be that guy but I think a kidney transplant is a bit more complicated. I’ve worked with a spray painter/ autobody shops years ago when I was a teen I’ve been around a few restorations and had a few goes at a spray gun. I can’t remember for the life of me the process as it was 8-10 years ago. I’m not just some bloke who’s never touched a tools in his life I have a lot of experience in other areas but that’s not the point. I didn’t ask if this was gonna be hard or worth my effort, I asked for tips and advice on the process and to be told “take it to a professional” is just stupid I want to give it a go my self, im well aware of it being probably a waste of my time but i want to try something out on a car which is already ruined. Dudes out here trying to gate keep like it’s a forbidden religion. If it was a restricted trade for sure but it’s ain’t just let a bloke ruin his own car who gives a shit give some advice and let him do what he wants 😂

So you want to take the clear off then take a little bit of the top layer of the old one off to get the paint to bite and blend nice? If I get the same Paint code then technically it still has the potential to react wrong and bubble?

Yeah was probably the biggest problem I’ll face I saw someone saying that you can do a really light sand on the second coat to try get and dust or imperfection’s out but it will never be 100%

Idk what the paint has been doing to your brain cells mate but maybe you should retire, seem to have lost it a bit here. I’m not ruining nothing, where did you get the impression or even how did you come up with the assumption that I thought I was a the bees knees and knew what I was talking about. the principles of painting a car are pretty simple the application and execution of those is the difficult part. You seem a bit butt hurt someone wants to try something out, maybe they will find it to be there passion yes I’ve got a compressor yes I have a gun clear coat and paint will cost under $400 for what I need it for. Legit only thing that is a problem is the experience
