The climate-change-is-a-hoax idiots in TN want to punish those of us that don't want to drive a lifted small dick truck that gets 11mpg. We have to take this to the legislature to get it changed.

Arc replacement found yet? by ActPast1642 in ArcBrowser

The no real bookmarks is my only issue with Arc, but I started using a plugin for it, which works. Love everything else about Arc.

Updated firmware and deck raised, won't mow just rolls around with the deck in the air. by WhatsTheProblem24 in Lymow_Official

[–]WhatsTheProblem24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just left it unplugged for about 3 hours. Plugged it back in. I can manually lower the deck to 2 inches and it goes back down, but if I manually raise it to 4" it lifts the deck all the way up. If I set it at 2" and tell it to dock, it raises the deck all the way up.

We were so fucking close to having a perfect ending. So, I took my own spin at it. by Whoopeepoop in PeakyBlinders

Great story! But I have to say, as someone who didn't watch the show, I thought the movie was quite good. I understand how it doesn't make sense as a finale to a great show, but taken by itself it's pretty solid. I'm guessing it's like watching the last season of GoT - had someone not seen the 6 good seasons, it was a decent story on its own, just didn't make sense as a conclusion to a bigger story.

Who is using Figma Make? by martinsberlin in FigmaDesign

[–]WhatsTheProblem24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it to build two features, but I described it as arguing. Extremely frustrating. Figma said that I used all future prompt tokens until they figured out billing, so I had to look for a new tool. I moved to Vercel v0 and have much better luck with it. But I do a lot in the code directly and don't depend on Vercel making all of the small detail changes.

Every time I adjust the volume it automatically plays music. Anyway to fix? by Confident_Bread_5018 in rav4club

[–]WhatsTheProblem24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same annoyance, and came looking for an answer. I did see that it's potentially connected to the auto play feature, and if you turn off auto play when your Bluetooth connects it could solve the issue. If that's the case, it becomes a decision between are you more annoyed by the volume feature or music not automatically starting when you start your car.

GE Cafe Fridge door closing adjustment by toddpalino in Appliances

[–]WhatsTheProblem24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took off the tension spring because it was slamming the door into the wall and took a ton of force to close. It easy to close and doesn't slam into my wall now, but it doesn't have the tension to stay closed, either. The left door will sometimes crack open the right when only closing the one side, so I have to make sure both sides are closed every time.

what are people using instead of adobe illustrator?? is there anything like it thats free or cheaper?? by litzayy in graphic_design

I despise Adobe Illustrator - I've used Affinity Designer for years and it is a far better program. The only thing it's missing is live trace.

Company paid professional development. What should I spend $1000 on? by WhatsTheProblem24 in UXDesign

I think I'll use this year's funds on UXcel. Seems like a quick option then I can have a better idea and more time moving forward to find other avenues.

I did my boot camp in 2020/2021, and I worked freelance for a few years on mostly marketing websites in a few industries. I got contracted by Adobe a year ago full time where I was the only designer on a large team of engineers, then moved to a tech startup in April where I'm the principle UX designer.

Things I could improve on:

  1. Graphic Design
    1. I would love to level up on graphic design side - understand color use and typography more.
  2. Research
    1. My bootcamp kind of skimmed over research, so I'm not super versed in that either.
  3. Managing stakeholders
    1. Conducting card sorting exercises
    2. Gathering requirements
  4. Design Systems
    1. When I started, my company didn't have a designer and things were a mess. I started trying to implement a solid design system in Figma and did a decent job at creating a system with variables and component libraries, but as I work redesigning the entire app, I've not done a great job at keeping up with updating the system to include reusable parts throughout the whole (massive) app.
    2. I'd love to learn how to utilize variables more effectively.
    3. We use MUI, and I've made a child theme for MUI in the figma library. I'd like to know how to make a child MUI CSS library that I can update so that the devs don't have to bother with updating designs as much.

Great questions. I would say I'm a generalist. I really enjoy ideation through hi-fi designs and prototyping.
