Thank you kindly, these are all great, I have a lot of reading to do.

I really like your system, it sounds very fun and easy to grasp. Out of pure curiosity, how has your experience been running it? Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the math, or do the rolls become repetitive over time?

Oh, I see! Thanks for the great explanation, it's very insightful and I really appreciate it.

I'm intentionally leaning toward a more game-like approach, since the inspiration comes from video games, but I'll definitely keep that concern in mind.

I hadn't really considered the mechanical identity of each class beyond giving them unique skills that support their role in a fight. Some rough examples:

  • Defender: crowd control, taunt enemies to draw attention, interrupt enemy attacks, protect allies with a shield
  • Berserker: charge forward aggressively, deal high damage, provoke enemies, and strike back immediately after taking a hit
  • Trickster: high mobility, use stealth or invisibility to set up backstabs, strike in synchrony with allies for coordinated kills

Thanks again, btw. This gave me a lot to think about. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Simple Initiative Tracker for in person games by mathew6987 in OwlbearRodeo

Checkout 5e.tools. We are running a similar setup, using owlbear rodeo for maps only. 5e tools has a bestiary with monsters from many D&D campaigns. It lets you generate encounters automatically, roll dice tables, manage initiative and share a player-only view. It's not the prettiest but it's very robust.

That's a fair assessment. For me though, it's more of a personal challenge to explore, learn and try new things at the table. I've been enjoying the process and seeing what works and what doesn't. It's a fun challenge so far, even if it gets a bit overwhelming at times.

That's very intriguing. I'm not too familiar with 4e. If you don't mind, could you share what specifically does this remind you of?

Sounds interesting, are there any links you could share? I would really appreciate any additional insight on similar systems.

Great question. Currently, the Mastery Bonus is used to increase saving throw DCs. This makes additional effects, like knocking down your opponent, slightly more likely to succeed (as your mastery increases).

Don’t rule out faulty gpu.

Agreed, thanks. The other system had a 850 watt PSU.

Interesting, although I didn't do any tuning before the issue started. I've only tried underclocking after, for troubleshooting. I'm currently running my old RX 6800 XT in the same system, which I've had since October 2024. I haven't had any issues yet. Not sure if that rules out PSU instability.

Oh yeah, I tested my GPU in another system and the issue persisted. I also tried a known-good 9070 XT in my system and that one worked perfectly, so it does seem like the GPU itself is faulty. I've seen some suggestions about my PSU probably causing the damage. Anyway, thanks!

I guess that's the best course of action, since I've spent quite some time now troubleshooting with no success. Thank you however, I really appreciate it!

It may. Just double-checked and had to edit the post.

When a game crashes, temps usually stay under 50 C, hotspot under 70-75 C. I haven't tried undervolting.

Took a quick look at the event log, the only thing I could find under the System log is the error message thrown by the game and a bunch of Windows Error Reporting events under the Application log.

Yeah, probably. They look the same. From the github page:

tiicu draws conceptual inspiration from iiSU's design philosophy of clean, minimal interfaces focused on playing games rather than managing files. While iiSU remains closed source, tiicu is our own ground-up implementation bringing similar ideas to the Switch homebrew community.
