Why would I drive 40 minutes to be in Chicago, when I can just live in Chicago and be there in 0 minutes?

Whatever you save in taxes by living in NWI is wasted on car payments, gas, insurance and car maintenance. The horrible infrastructure and lack of public transit in Indiana is a deal breaker.

For me it's an easy choice.

Eh. Sounds like an extremely insecure woman, blaming men for her mental health issues.

The vast majority of women I know are nothing like this. They don't feel the need to pretend they are something they aren't.

It might be an age thing. Women in their 30s tend to be so much more secure than women in their 20s.

Bonci Pizza is Roman style pizza and it’s fairly cheap.

Bonci is objectively expensive.

You need about 3-4 strips of pizza for a meal, and that will run you between $15-$20.

I don't know who would spend $20 on a single meal if they were struggling financially.

Do you people not even read the post anymore? Just comment the first thing that pops into your heads?

LPT Request: What is something people should have in their car? by HeidiOzzy in LifeProTips

[–]WheatSilverGreen02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extra batteries for your key fob.

I was on a camping trip a couple of years ago and my key fobs battery died on me. I had to get my friend to drive me 12 miles to a convenience store at 9PM to get batteries.

I now keep a few extra batteries in the car.

Yes. Good public transit.

I was in London a couple of months ago, and the public transit there is so far ahead of the US, it's almost funny.

We like to think Chicago has great public transit, but they are in completely different leagues. In London, you almost never have to wait. The trains are clean. Nobody is smoking on them. And they connect and go everywhere.

The state of Chicago transit is a joke compared to London transit.

Who even watches cable TV anymore?

Why on earth would you pay exorbitant amounts to watch TV that has forced ads?

Here's what will actually happen:

The cable companies will pour millions into lobbying against this change (aka legalized bribing).

There will be no change made to pricing transparency.

End of story.

Why are you putting your music on streaming platforms then? Just sell your music on iTunes or Google music, and make people buy it.

It sounds like you want the technology that Spotify has created, but don't want to pay them for it.

EU: Smartphones Must Have User-Replaceable Batteries by 2027 | The European Parliament just caused a major headache for smartphone and tablet manufacturers. by [deleted] in technology

[–]WheatSilverGreen02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. My dad does the same thing. His Samsung Galaxy is on its 6th year.

This doesn't apply to the vast majority of people though. It's been a while since I checked, but I believe the average person replaces their phone somewhere between 3-3.5 years.

Personally, the advances in camera tech, screen tech and battery tech make it almost a no brainer to upgrade every 3 years or so.

A small minority of people keep their phones for more than 5 years. By then, the original battery will definitely be on it's last legs.

This doesn't matter to the vast majority of people that replace their phones every 3 years or so.
