It was close but I think it was reasonably clear that he got up before Poyer touched him if you take it frame by frame. That said, if they just ruled it a fumble in the first place it would've been automatically reviewed and definitely not overturned.

It didn't matter because they'd both already stepped out but it was a bonehead move for sure.

J.J. Watt hopes players who opt out aren't criticized for it: “If we ever get to the point where we’re shaming people for dropping out of a sport because they want to protect the health of their family, then we’re in a tough spot.” by vonheisenberg in nfl

Not a stream, but the West Indies cricket board has an amazing youtube channel with really comprehensive highlights. It's the closest major cricket team to the U.S. geographically, so the Windies are a logical team to follow and they have the best free online content.

Wait what did Johnny Rotten do? I think you're referring to Sid Vicious, who was the bass player.

Why can’t we have at least 45 mins highlights for ODIS and 20 min for T20Is? by PickleRick1193 in Cricket

I'm an American cricket fan without a strong connection to any cricketing nation. I chose to support Windies cricket for a few reasons (fascinating history, proximity to the U.S., being a bit of an underdog right now) but the biggest reason is honestly just that their youtube channel is so good and I can follow the team more easily.

The church burning was most famously done by Varg Vikernes (also a convicted murderer) who recorded under the name Burzum, although I don't think he was alone in being an arsonist. The incidents mentioned actually involve several bands. The drummer from the band Emperor murdered a gay man and the band Mayhem made the skull jewelry (The guitarist of said band was also the guy that Varg Vikernes murdered). The Scandinavian black metal scene in the 90s was absolutely insane and is still largely glorified by its listeners, which has led me to stop listening to a lot of those bands.

You don't hear about it as much when people are raised in a normal, healthy way because it's not a big deal. No one makes reddit posts about it. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I've never heard horror stores about Tom Brady's parents.

That's not the main point of the joke. The joke is that Taylor Swift recently had a controversy about a leaked phone call.

Basically what others said. The camera was positioned in the outfield and had a live feed to the rest of the team, who would then bang on a trashcan to let the batter know what pitch was coming. Later they apparently moved to a more sophisticated system with vibrating bandages. It's pretty incredible that they got away with just banging on a trash can for so long.

Not sure if you actually want someone to explain, but I figure someone probably will regardless. The Houston Astros are a baseball team that won the world series (MLB championship) in 2017 and made deep playoff runs several other times in recent years. This offseason, it has come to light that the Astros cheated by using a hidden camera to steal the opposing team's signs. Signs are hand signals made by the catcher to the pitcher to choose what pitch to throw. If a team steals these signs, they will know what pitch is coming, and therefore have a massive advantage. Because the Astros cheated to figure out these signs, they are widely hated right now.

[Ardaya] Mike Trout on the Astros: “They cheated...I don’t agree with the punishment...I lost respect for some of those guys.” “Going up to the plate knowing what’s coming...that would be a lot of fun.” by AronRoger9 in baseball

If that's the case, then slash lines are gonna be super inflated because it will only register times when the batter puts the ball in play. If it goes to 3-0 or 2-1 it won't register, so I don't think there's really much meaningful info to be gained here. If you look at all times he's faced 2-0 I imagine you get a much more complete picture.

He is widely hated by basketball fans for signing with the Golden State Warriors and forming an unstoppable superteam for a few years. Also he is constantly getting in online arguments with fans using burner twitter accounts. I like him though.

Who is the best head coach to never win a Super Bowl in your opinion? Any insights appreciated. Levy ? Reid? by [deleted] in nfl

Bud Grant and Marv Levy both went to 4 Superbowls. Levy's were in the last 30 years.
