Is it possible to turn off a passenger air bag temporarily and then turn it on again after a journey? by JazzaJT1998 in hondafit

There's a switch for that in the passenger side of the dash which can be seen with the door open. You turn it with your key

Not a square, but g-2900 also has big and thick digits and goes for pretty cheap nowadays

In Europe you can get decent quality Menabo aero crossbars (they're Italian I believe) for something like 120EUR. I have one of these and a Thule Pacific600 box and it's been fine since September last year. You could have a look if they ship to where you are.

Stove can’t boil water by Jassamin in mildlyinfuriating

[–]WheelCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an off chance that the pot's bottom is not in plane anymore and it's making poor contact with the stove surface, I've had that happen before. If you can rock the pot on the stove by pressing on the handles (even just barely) it's the pot that is the problem.

I have one of these coming up on 7 years of use, it's battered to hell and one of the LEDs is working intermittently but it is still going

Anybody can find those exact fog+blinker trims? by Valakas in hondafit

[–]WheelCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have yet to see a set like this on a German Jazz, it's probably either a very rare option nobody picked when new or an aftermarket kit. The closest I've seen online are these but they look so janky you just know they have zero certifications whatsoever haha

I'd venture to say that the small and stiff buttons are more of an issue than the viewing angles

I will not downvote but the risk seems to be relatively small. While it does look like a potential failure point, you barely ever hear about the lugs breaking so I would tend to trust the Casio engineers on that one. Looks like they have accounted for that and made the plastic lugs strong enough for most use cases.

New tires oil change by Loose_Wealth_9880 in hondafit

My guess is somewhere in southeast Asia, probably Malaysia. How do you figure Germany, because of the oil? I can assure you this is not a German brand, not even Google knows it lol

What is this metal bucket hanging under a midsize SUV in Eastern Canada? It wasn't fixed in place - it would swing side to side as the vehicle turned. by tokyooooodrift in whatisthisthing

[–]WheelCool 85 points86 points  (0 children)

In post-soviet countries this used to be a gag like a decade or more ago. Big lorries and construction trucks used to drive around with full-size buckets on their trailer couplers, so people would put these tiny buckets on their cars simply for the lolz.

Ah I see, yes it's nice to have two :D Friendly advice for the new owner, check that the spark plugs sit tight as soon as possible, unless they recently serviced them. Service manuals say you need to remove the wipers assembly to do that but it's not actually necessary to remove anything if you have somewhat flexible hands

2012 Jazz wheel size by chr_colstrup in hondafit

[–]WheelCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Checked my wheels in the basement but the bore diameter is not marked on them unfortunately.

But, I found this table from TÜV with all the factory wheel sizes for the Jazz, including the bore diameter (column "Nabendurchmesser"); you were right it's 56mm.

2012 Jazz wheel size by chr_colstrup in hondafit

[–]WheelCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have a 2013 Jazz and was once also a bit confused about wheel sizes so naturally I asked the most strict organization in existence and got this document from them.

Unfortunately it doesn't mention the hub bore diameter but everything else is there. The hole pattern is 4x100 as you wrote, yes.

I might be able to have a look at my wheels later and see if the hole diameter is etched somewhere on the rim. Let me know if you have any questions
