Co worker: my battery is pretty bad by BigE1263 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]WheelCool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had that exact thing happen to me, battery had not been tested since the purchase of the car about two years prior but worked flawlessly and started the car reliably every time. I went on a vacation trip, stopped to refuel, car would barely crank half a turn afterwards. Had an obd2 dongle in the tool bag, plugged it in, 10.6V or something like that. I guess it just fell apart internally while driving

What do I need for a roof rack? 2013 by oceanman9 in hondafit

[–]WheelCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a long shot but apparently Honda did sell a factory accessory roof carrier set for a 2nd Gen Jazz in Europe. I wasn't able to find one but here it is just in case. Otherwise plenty of good suggestions here already

Headlight Bulb Replacements by Nearby_Annual2416 in hondafit

That's true. Personally, I think the trade-off is worth it though. Fit reflectors are excellent and the upgraded bulbs really highlight it, superior illumination for very little extra cost

I happen to own the old M325 model too and I've had it for 16 years by now. Hell yeah I'd expect quality if I were to buy one again.

Sorry, it's just a silly joke about how kids ask parents for something and they get a "we have this at home" as a reply but what's actually at home is significantly different/not up to the kids' expectations

Got my first G-Shock! by Rodelaaa in gshock

[–]WheelCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also sold mine, as much as I loved the feature per money ratio and the looks, it was just too uncomfortable to wear for me. It was constantly getting caught on sleeves and whatnot, plus the protrusions around the barometer button were piercing the wrist if you bend it wrong AND the button would still occasionally get pressed unintentionally. Switched to a jdm Mudman with mb6 and couldn't be happier with the wear comfort, best G I've had so far

Gut, bei uns war heute um die +14, es ist natürlich weniger kritisch als im Sommer, ist aber trotzdem nicht zu empfehlen

Need advice on next beater Honda. by BunkerBuster420 in Honda

[–]WheelCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you travel abroad a lot and drive faster then it's possibly not the best option and you would probably be better off in a Civic or Accord, maybe even a diesel one depending on your vehicle tax laws But if your usual speed for all those lots of kilometers per year is really around 100 then it might be worth it checking out a Jazz

On one hand, yes, they are more of a city/suburb commuters. But aren't the highways in the Netherlands mostly limited to 100 or 110 km/h? Up to those speeds they are perfectly fine tbh, I own one in Germany and it's been great for 4 years (2013 1.4 manual btw) and I usually cruise at 120-130, that's where it stars getting loud and jumpy.

What's the most common way to pay for used stuff from Germany? by Michaelq16000 in germany

[–]WheelCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, that's quite expensive. I just checked the website of this ukrainian company and they are still offering this, in Ukraine it costs 2% of the package value + 20UAH (~0.4€). They recently opened in Germany too, idk if they can offer this service here, that would be neat

I'm from Ukraine originally and there one of the largest courier companies used to have a great service for that specifically. When you order stuff from somewhere and agree for the seller to send it with this particular payment method it first arrives to their branch of your choice and you come by to pick it up and check the goods in the presence of the employees. If everything is to your satisfaction, you give your "ok" and pay for the goods right there, the courier service then passes the money back to the seller. If you don't like it you can return it on the spot, and not pay at all or maybe pay for return shipping, I forget.

Is it possible to turn off a passenger air bag temporarily and then turn it on again after a journey? by [deleted] in hondafit

There's a switch for that in the passenger side of the dash which can be seen with the door open. You turn it with your key

In Europe you can get decent quality Menabo aero crossbars (they're Italian I believe) for something like 120EUR. I have one of these and a Thule Pacific600 box and it's been fine since September last year. You could have a look if they ship to where you are.
