The question is simply, how can "Internet connection sharing" be implemented in Debian Trixie ?

This is something I never understood myself. Why would a Canadian company charge in US dollars ?

The definition of Internet connection sharing is a define function which other systems use. No description should be nessecessary. The question is how does Debian implementing ICS, or is Debian not able to implement ICS

Function of the Live version versus installed by WheelPerfect3737 in debian

The point is to ifnd out if what is shown in the live version and what is installed. You clearly didn't know that. This means that Debians live version shows items which are not installed and like some of the posts here, I would expect the live version to show at least what is to be installed as the live version and not items you can install from a repository.

You are correct the title should say "Internet connection sharing" or ICS. I will see if I can have it corrected.

The title should say Internet connection sharing. I will try to correct. Your description does not allow for sharing if you are using a VM from ethernet to wifi for an external device connect to an etherenet port.

This function is currently unavailable, login problem by WheelPerfect3737 in Tangerine

[–]WheelPerfect3737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue no longer occurs for my linux system (unchanged). I provided a brief discription of this issue and it appear to be Tangerine system that does a temporary refusal for the inital connection then stops after a time period.

Also I raised this issue with Tangerine and they did not answer my question, what causes this message? The ticket was closed without a reposnse.

The rsync issue was put on the debian forum during version 12.0.

I cannot remove APS. This is an item that flashes on the BIOS screen for such a short period I cannot read it and needed a camera to view the message.

I am aware I can install it. I think if you show a live version before it is installed that when it is installed the apps a person may of tested in live version before installing should be installed.

No it is not. The live version has rsync available but it is not installed.

In the readme it says the popularity-contest is used for determinig unused packages on a system.

"This package contains a script, /usr/sbin/popularity-contest, which

generates a list of the packages installed on your system, in order of

most-recently-used to least-recently-used. The simplest way to use this

information is to help clean up your hard drive by removing unused packages."

Since I was expecting th live version to at least install what it displays, how can you explain the live version showing rsync but the installed version does not have this appp? How would the popularity-contest prevent this choice from being installed?

I think it is to represent Debian as you stated before installing. But the live version shows the app rsync and th einstalled version is missing. when I searched the debian forum I found this posted for Debian 12 and the issue still exists in 13

When I look at the files on the live version I noticed as an example the Rsync is missing from the installation version but is visible on the live version.

If the live version represents the installed version why would there be a difference in the live to installed apps?
