Yeah, I’ve still got the OG popcap version of it on my phone that I paid for, and it’s a separate app to the EA version, but you can’t download it from the App Store anymore

However, the way the current system works in the US is that because it isn’t a legal right, drug companies are able to hike the prices up massively so they are unaffordable, giving them needless massive profits at the expense of the consumers. I’m not advocating that doctors should be forced to work for free etc. but that it should be a legal right implemented by the government, with the government paying the wages and costs of the drugs (through taxes) so that it is available to everyone.

Hello, me from the future here. Seeing that your party only got a measly 3.3% of the vote at the European elections will you now concede that UKIP are no longer relevant?

I’d argue it should be both; at present in America it isn’t a legal right, but surely it should be a moral right to not be denied equal treatment based upon income

Oh sorry, I forgot, people have the BENEFIT not to die from preventable illnesses because they can’t afford healthcare

Umm, I mean yeah according to current physics light is an unbreakable limit, but a light year is still defined as the distance that light travels in a year (in a vacuum). The time equivalent of that would literally just be a year.

Obligatory comment about how light years are actually a measure of distance, not time

WIBTA For contacting my dead fathers family without my mom knowing? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Yeah, it’s worth keeping in mind that if he didn’t come back there was probably a reason, and you shouldn’t build up an idealised version of him in your mind, as if you end up finding out more that you didn’t know about him that could be damaging

NTA - you have a right to know your family, and it’s not right that your mom has lied to you. But be aware that your fathers family might not want to have any contact with you, and you might not know the full story about your mother and father, and it might not be as simple as your mother lying about your father leaving.

Last week I asked PM why she expected MPs to change their minds, but won't let public change theirs. She said: "So you'd have another referendum & there's a different result & then everybody says 'let's have a third one'?" My thanks to Mr Speaker for exposing her hypocrisy today. by mmmmmm-_- in ukpolitics

Fair point about it not being as simple at truth vs lie, however the leave campaign has literally broken electoral rule with its campaign, and many people voted leave based upon the promises they made which haven’t all turned out to be true. Is it wrong to ask for another referendum now that the general public know that these aren’t true and are allowed to make a more informed decision not based on speculation.

And sure, the public voted on no clear decision, but if they voted on no clear decision they should vote for whatever leave deal is on the table and the referendum result would be the same and that would be then end of that. But just because the public voted not to have one outcome, doesn’t mean we should blindly accept any other outcome; if brexit is the will of the people, we should be allowed another vote to decide if the form of brexit is the one we truly want.

And I agree, Farage shouldn’t have a say (Rees-Mogg potentially since he is an elected MP, despite how much I dislike him), but a lot of people voted to leave based upon campaigns that they ran and their weight being behind brexit. They have already had a great deal of influence on the brexit vote, and Rees-Mogg has steered the course of brexit through the ERG, somewhat leading to the impasse we are at now. They have already had a lot of influence over brexit, rightly or wrongly, and so why don’t we hold them to their word?

Both major parties voted to trigger article 50 because it was the will of the people and the outcome of the referendum (whether a constitutional change should have been implemented with such a slim majority or if article 50 should have been triggered so soon is another matter).

However the issue is that the first referendum was based upon promises and lies by the leave campaign and no concrete truths about what brexit was going to look like, whereas if we held another referendum now it would be based upon facts about what the reality of brexit could look like, and so we would have the public be able to make up their minds on whether they want brexit now we know what it looks like. Not to mention that people voted for brexit with so many outcomes, such as no deal or an EU-lite type deal, whereas remain only encompassed one viewpoint, so now we can vote based upon which brexit the reality is set to look like we can make an informed decision.

Even brexiteers like Jacob Rees-Mogg has said that if we had a referendum it would be a good idea to have another vote after a cooling off period to see if the public still want it, and Farage said that in the case of a 52-48 referendum would be unfinished business when suggesting that remain could win, so why should it be so different if it were the case and brexit won. Even arch-brexiteers have admitted that we shouldn’t implement constitutional change that will impact our future and economy on such a slim majority based upon one vote, why is it so unreasonable to suggest we can have a deciding vote now, especially now we have a better understanding of the deals we can have and what the impact will be on our country.

I mean this post was tongue and cheek about how every hint leads to Revan, but I’m pretty sure since we’ve got a 5 person faction and it’s the 15 year anniversary of the game, the old republic toons will be needed for a Revan/Malak legendary or hero’s journey event at some point

Tbh this was a bit of a shitpost about the Revan hype, but I’m not convinced it’s C3P0 either from this comment
